Hi!

I'm kind of a newbie and am trying to implement JFBConnect with CB 1.4 on my Joomla 1.5.23 site. I love the functionality and all of the Facebook aspects of the component are working great. One issue here is that even with the Skip CB Activation set to No, new users who use the FB sign in method are having an account built in CB that is unapproved and unconfirmed. No confirmation email is being sent. The Joomla account is being built correctly. Even when I manually confirm and approve the CB user, I still have the following issue, which causes me to think that they may be related. Then again, I most likely have no idea what I am talking about.

When I use the user and password fields in either CBLogin or JFBCLogin, everything works as it is supposed to (once I have approved the CB account). The problem occurs when I try to use the FB sign in button. I am signed into Facebook and all of the Facebook features turn on (I can post to my status, Like stuff and leave comments), but I am not logged into the site itself. I am even redirected to the home page. It's very odd. I've gone through the setup guide a couple of times but am pretty sure that I have just missed something little. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The standalone JFBCLogin form is at: 174.37.130.155/~nlmtest/romeo-login .
The JFBCLogin plug in is implemented into the CB login form here: 174.37.130.155/~nlmtest/login .

Thanks!

The problem is likely that you have fields set as required in Community Builder. If there are fields set as required, and they aren't being mapped to a Facebook field, then the user's profile isn't technically complete. In this case, Community Builder doesn't currently let us save this user. We're working on ways to fix this better, but below are a few suggestions:
1) Make sure that any fields that are marked as required in CB have a Facebook field mapped to them in the Profiles tab of JFBConnect
2a) If using the create user setting of "Full Joomla User" in JFBConnect, try setting the "Show non-mapped required fields" in JFBConnect to Yes. This will show fields set as required on the Login/Register page of JFBConnect after a user clicks the "Login With Facebook" button.
2b) Don't require the CB fields marked as required.

No worries about being a newbie. There's a lot of settings in JFBConnect, and while we try to make it easy, questions come up. Thanks for your subscription, and take advantage of our support!

Alex

Thanks so much Alex! I have everything working properly now (except for a small styling issue - but that's for a different post). Great extension!
