Two questions, one, I'd like to add the new Send option next to the likes.
Second, can you take a look at this page: www.FanfareWeddings.com (the fanbox, top right) -- what should we do to get a better icon displayed?
Thanks much!

We'll be including Send support in an upcoming release. It will be in 3.2.2 (a bugfix release) or 3.3 (a feature release) depending on what's first. It's a minor update to our code, and we're already investigating it, but don't have anything available to implement it yet.

This was something new that Facebook just introduced today, so give us a little bit to get it in :)

As for the image for the Fan Box, that's determined by Facebook and comes from the image you use on your Fanpage itself. You should look into updating the profile image for that page:

Hope that helps, and good luck!

Hi Alex,

Any timeline for the "Send" Feature in the 3.2.2 release?

Cheers,

Not yet. It will be coming soon, we're expecting by the end of next week. We're in the process of merging some changes that were done in the Joomla 1.6 version of JFBConnect and the Joomla 1.5 version to make development and feature additions more easily added to both at the same time. This has pushed back 3.2.2 a little bit, and there simply aren't any critical bugs (fortunately) requiring a speedier release.

We want to get the Send feature out, and understand it's taking a little longer than we normally like to get a new feature in, but it will be there soon.

Hope this helps, and sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thanks,
Alex

I was able to implement the "Send" feature (as a temporary measure) by adding "send=true" right after <fb:like" which is found at around line 372 in the "jfbcsystem.php" file (plugins/system/jfbcsystem/jfbcsystem.php).

Line 372 looks like this now:

$likeButtonText = '<div class="jfbclike"><fb:like send=true href="' . $url . '"';

CAUTION: BACKUP THE FILE BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES TO IT. (Just make a copy of it into the same directory and label it "jfbcsystem-backup" or something like that.

Great hearing from you. Hope it works for you. It is a great feature and I am sure that JFBConnect will have it implemented it in the next round of releases because it seems to be a simple change (it would be great to have it as an option as opposed to hardcoded).

Glad to see we're bringing people together :)

Yes, we've been slacking in getting that feature in, which we apologize for. Usually, when new stuff is added by Facebook, we try to get an option for it into a release within a few weeks. However, right now we've been focusing on a unified build script for our Joomla 1.5 and 1.6 versions, which has delayed our most recent 'update' release. Once done though, it will allow changes like the above to be implemented once (by us) and available in both Joomla versions.. which will help speed up development going forward.

Thanks for the temporary fix. It's spot on for a 'fixed' solution, but we'll definitely have the option for show/hide in the next release.
