Login Error & Likes was created by wggdm
Alex,
1. When a new user logs on to the site and trys to "login with facebook", after they hit "Allow" the 500 error message appears. If that user logs out and logs back in, it works. I need it to work the first time because most users won't try again.
2. On the second login try, when you get to the screen, "Invite friends", the pop up is off to the side and the "send" bottom is behind the right hand column. Therefore, you can't invite friends. Please note that the right hand column is too wide after enabling the JFBC Fan module.
3. Lastly, and this is the best. I created the facebook page and enabled and configured the JFBC Fan module. My website now has 64,827 "likes"---a good problem to have but an error nonetheless. My fb page has 7 likes.
4. Should the number of likes on your facebook page and website be the same or will they always differ depending on where the button is hit.
Thanking you in advance.

1) For the 500 error issue, can you link to the page that is showing the error? Also, can you delete my user account so I can re-register and create a new account?
I noticed you've enabled SEF on the site. Are you using standard Joomla SEF, or something else? Can you disable the SEF and test again to see if the problem occurs with it disabled? That is a big cause of problems sometimes, but we can always find a work-around if that's the case.

2) We just updated the Invite module to 3.2.2 to fix a resizing bug. Please update to that version and, once installed, make sure the "Enable Automatic Resizing" option is set. That should fix your pboelm.

3) The reason that's happening is because something on your site is setting the 'canonical' URL to example.com. If you look at the html on your page, and search for 'example.com', you'll see the line I'm talking about. The canonical URL is used by search engines and other things (like Facebook) to determine what the final 'core' URL for a page should be. Setting it something incorrect is going to kill your chances of being in search engines, and should be fixed immediately. Once that's updated, your Like button issue should correct itself in 24-48 hours.

This likely is related to the SEF question above.

4) Whatever URL you use in the Like button href parameter is the number of likes that will display. If you use a Like button on your homepage for your Facebook Page, it will show that number. If you use a URL of your homepage, it will be that number. There's no correlation between the 2 though.

Hope this all helps, and good luck!

Alex,
1. Here is the link to the 500 error downticketdems.com/publish_stream/lw==/5...72/loginfacebookuser. I deleted your user account. I did set up an account with Attracta. As per your request, I disabled 4 SEF SM Integration for 1.5 from the Plug In manager.
2. Regarding the upgrading of the Invite module to 3.2.2, I noticed on my overview page that since I installed 3.2 many of the extensions have been upgraded. Should I download/install the three downloads again or just com_jfbconnect_j1.5_v3.2.1 tar.gz which are in "My account".
3. I disable from the Module Manager Custom HTML with Attracta which I think is what you want me to do while we sort this out. Please advise.
4. Thank you for the "Like" Button information.

1) I just tried to register and was successfully logged in and brought to:
www.downticketdems.com/welcome-facebook-user
Have you tried registering since you disabled the SEF extension? If it works, and you want to re-enable it, please look for an option to turn it off for all JFBConnect links. All good SEF extensions have the ability to turn it off on a component by component basis. Facebook can send some really wonky URLs to our application, and it's best if they'r eleft untouched.

2) You should always try to keep the extensions you're using up-to-date. The main com_jfbconnect file will only update the component, plugins, and login module. The remainder of the (optional) modules and plugins are in their own zip. You should download these and install what you use.

3) No problem, and good luck!

Alex,
Regarding
#2-I successfully downloaded and then uploaded com_jbconnect_jl.5v3.2.1. tar gz. When I tried to download the profile and social module, I received the following message "Error could not find an XML set in the file package".
Thanking you in advance.

Did you unzip the package first? The module and plugin packages are a combination of multiple files. Please unzip them first, and then install only the extensions you need.

Hope this helps!
