1. I get the following options (see image) when trying to log on with a new facebook account. I am trying to do create the cb account on the fly and NOT have to re-register or re-logon.

2. CB is sending out the authentication email (with no link) in spite of having NO set in both CB and JFBC.

Any ideas?

1) Set the User Creation setting in JFBConnect to "Facebook User Only". That will automatically create accounts for users.

2) Please make sure that Skip Activation is enabled in the CB Profiles section of JFBConnect. Also, make sure Skip Joomla Activation is disabled in the main JFBConnect Configuration area.

Finally, if you have fields marked as "Required" in Community Builder, please make sure that they have a mapping enabled from Facebook's profile. If you have any required fields in CB that are not being imported into, Community Builder will not let us save the user, which will cause a lot of issue. For more information, see:

Regarding CB authentication email and subsequent

1. Does the CB configuration for "Require Email Configuration" need to be set to YES or NO?
2. What about CB Configurations for "Allow User Registration" - 'yes, independently of global site settings' or 'no, same as global settings'?
3. FYI, I am using CB 1.4.

So far, I log in correctly, but I get a Joomla message re: pending authentication of email and moderator approval. [Let me correct that: I am logged in but am unconfirmed and unapproved, and thus can not modify my profile.]

I will check the required fields, but I don't have any set besides the default username / email.

Sorry to go on with this, but the only required fields I have flagged in CB are:

Email
Username
Password

Still getting the activation / moderation request from CB.

Can you look at the user's profile that is created, and see if their Avatar and profile that you've mapped has been pulled from Facebook? That's the main indicator of whether there was some issue with saving the user's profile.

You should try un-marking those fields as required as well, since they all are guaranteed to be filled in, it shouldn't make any difference for Facebook or normal users. Once done, delete any user's you've tried to create through JFBConnect, and try again. This would be a good test to see if that's the problem, and if it is, we can help you to figure out a better solution.

The settings in CB for activation of email don't matter if you tell JFBConnect to skip activation. The same is true of the Allow User Registration setting-- that does not affect JFBConnect.

If you have users set for administrator moderation in CB though, they will still need to be approved by an administrator.

Well, I finally configured JFBConnect correctly. We had some cb fields that weren't playing nice.

All is fine now.
