While we can get a lot of information from a user's profile, phone number is not currently one. About a month ago, Facebook announced a policy change what would have allowed application developers to get at this information. However, that sparked a whole privacy discussion (even though you'd need to get approval for that permission, just like every other field), and they put that capability on hold.
They have stated that it will be available at some point, after they make some changes to their policy again. They haven't been specific as to when that will be though.
With 3.2, you can import a lot of information from the user's profile, and we've added the ability in this release to add additional fields to the registration page (if you're using the "Full Joomla User" user creation setting). That may be a good way to get the phone number, but may not work for your site.
