JomSocial Login problem was created by Zzz
I used JomSocial Facebook Connect before but now installed JFBConnect6 mainly because it's invite fb friends feature. JomSocial FB Connect worked without any problems. I installed and activated JFBConnect according to the step by step instructions.

But when I now:

Click the JFBConnect button at JomSocial frontpage (IE8), I login to facebook in the popup. The popup dissapears but nothing happens. When I browse to /jomsocial/profile/ it seems like the page is refreshing in a loop several times. When I go back to home I see error results: "Automatically logging you in with your Facebook credentials" (43 times)

Error "Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet." (42 times).

After installing JFBConnect I didn't immediately import FB profiles from JomSocial Connect but tried login with this account before I imported them. When I finally imported the JomSocial profiles I saw this account profile already in the list. Don't know if this had something to do with this problem but I thought I should mention.

Another thing, I see the logout link but I don't seem to be logged in as when I change something in the edit profile the system says I don't have correct credentials. But the changes I made in edit profile where actually implemented... Hmmm, weird.??....

I have deleted the API key etc from JomSocial Connect

I also attach the order of user plugins:

Hey there. The issue you describe (especially the mltiple errors/redirects, is usually caused from a problem with the User or Authentication plugins. Since you attached a picture of the User plugins, I can tell that that's not the problem, thanks! However, can you try moving the Joomla plugin to the top and the JFBConnect User plugin to the #2 position? I can't read what other plugins you have there, but if any of them are performing a redirect on registration/login, it could be preventing the Joomla or JFBConnect user plugins from firing.

Also, make sure the JFBConnect Authentication plugin is enabled.

It is possible that the migration is the problem because if you have the account already created, the email (from Facebook) may be conflicting with an existing user account.. causing a registration error. If you have 2 users in the User Manager now (your old account and possible new account), try deleting the new one... also, you can try enabling the "Automatically Associate User by Email" setting, which will hopefully clear up the problem.

Hope this all helps, but if not, let us know, and we'll do what we can to help!

I moved up the User - Joomla! so it's now number 0 but that did not make any change. But when I disabled the " User - Auto Loggin After Registration" plugin I don't get the login loop any more and the user is logged in. The only problem now is that the redirection to /jomsocial/profile doesn't work, so for the user still nothing happens when logging in, the fb login pop-up disappears and the the user stays on the login page (JomSocial Homepage).

My JFBConnect settings are now:
New User Redirection: -Profile
Enable Returning User Redirection: YES
Returning User Redirection: -Profile
Auto Login Facebook Users: YES
Log Out Of Joomla Only: NO
Enable Logout Redirection: YES
Logout Redirection: Joomla!Home

JomSocial also has redirection to Profile (Redirect successful logins: Profile). Is there any other settings I've missed?

1 AcyMailing Tag : Joomla User Information 3
2 AcyMailing Tag : CB User information 4
3 AcyMailing Tag : JomSocial User Fields 4
4 System - Email As Username 0
5 User - Joomla! 0
6 User - Auto Loggin After Registration 0
7 User - Jomsocial User 1
8 User - JFBConnect Facebook 2

We'll have to look into how to configure things how you want by redirecting the user to their profile on login. I'm not sure how to do this offhand.

However, the good news is, in the 3.2 release, we're adding the ability to show any required fields on the Registration page so you can capture this information at login. That release is expected in the next week or so, and will hopefully let you not require that redirect after login. For more information about that upcoming release, see:
www.sourcecoast.com/blog/item/106-jfbconnect-32-sneak-peek

We'll let you know what we find, and hopefully, we'll have a good (easy) solution soon. Worst case, we can tell you how to hard-code the link to the user's profile.

I saw that 3.2 was released today. Will an upgrade to 3.2 solve my problem?

Zzz,
I'm honestly not sure if JFBConnect v3.2 will solve your problems, but it does have a much more streamlined approach to login & registration that should only improve the situation.

Additionally, just yesterday, we were on a users site and debugged an issue regarding the "Auto Loggin After Registration" plugin. When that plugin triggers, it prevents all plugins after it from triggering. Now, looking at your list of plugins, my guess is that this is the culprit all along. Please try disabling that plugin and see if it works better for you. If so, we will try to determine a work around, but with JFBConnect, we automatically log the user in anyways.

Thanks,
Alex
