Help! I've installed JFBConnect and configured it as per the guide, but I get an error 500 trying to access any page on the site. I'm running Joomla! 1.5.22 on ubuntu 8.0.4LTS under apache 2.2.8. I also have mobile Joomla!, ProJoom NovaSFH, mod_twitterfeed and mod_jv_facebook (which I want to replace with JFBConnect) installed. Even trying to access Components->JFBConnect->Overview in the admin site gives me an error 500, although I can access the configuration page. I can't even see anything in the server logs. Website is www.hambleweek.org.uk/ and I currently have JFBConnect disabled (otherwise there would be no site at all). Anyone got any clues as to what I might have done wrong?

Shaun.

Shaun,
Sorry for the issues. Obviously, that's not the correct behavior.

There was recently another report of the strange 500 error on the Overview page. We weren't able to resolve it on that user's site, but would love to have a look at what's happening on yours to see if it's the same. On that site, basically the requests we were making to Facebook were failing in a very strange way. If we could see the same thing on your site, it will help us to have a 2nd example case for comparison.

In the process, we'd install a file explorer extension on your site, and only modify JFBConnect (minimally), and shouldn't interrupt your site during testing. If you're ok with that, please Private Message us a set of admin credentials. You can PM us by clicking the arrow under my name (<---) and hitting the mail icon.

Thanks!

Solved! The server was missing the PHP Curl extension, which is required.

Easy enough! Shaun, thanks for investigating and reporting your problem. I would have suggested that before, but usually cURL missing throws a different error. Either way, glad you're up and running, and let us know if you run into any other issues!
