My client contacted me this morning about very weirdly formatted jomsocial pages. Sure enough, they were broken, a custom right column dropping below the main column, also the jomsocial friends, latest photos and other image related functions display a combination of some images and ugly html code. If you click on Profile/Status you'll still see the break (unless I figure out where to manually edit the template very soon). It happens just under a Like button which sits just under "Friends".

I'm not quite sure why a Like button is displaying there (right jomsocial column) in the first place. However, if I disable the plugin, System - JFBCSocial, the break with the images and such goes away. There may be a separate problem with column width, my problem, but that is a different problem. Leaving System - JFBCSocial disabled will cause other problems now as we have started using { jfbclike} elsewhere including in the forum.

To note, in joomla administration I went into Jomsocial --> Configuration --> Layout and disabled "Who's Online" and "Latest Members" as they were causing the jomsocial home page (My Friends) to break.

I'm still troubleshooting this problem. One of the things that I've found so far is that if I log in through one of my alternate accounts which does not have Marsh (from the picture) as a friend, the problem isn't there. She is an administrator of the forum. I'm wondering if perhaps she add { jfbclike} somewhere in her profile and that's why the Like is displaying along with her avatar in my Friend's list. Am in the process of attempting to interrogate her. Stay tuned.

Definitely let us know. We just fixed another bug, completely unrelated, but are planning to look into another possible Content plugin issue and we're planning to investigate this as well.

We'll probably do some testing to see if we can recreate, but from the description you give, I don't know what would be happening... however, strange things happen all the time, so I wouldn't rule it out either :)

Time to update your FAQ/Gotcha page. This cookie qualifies. The person running the forum was also occasionally adding wall comments in jomsocial using { jfbclike} and unwittingly breaking the right column for anyone whom she had befriended. By digging I found that the most recent status update gets used by jomsocial as a tooltip type popup in the right column Friend and a few other spots deploying avatars.

To resolve the problem I:

Logged in as Super Administrator and deleted the Reflection by checking the red X next to it. A regular member needs to click on "Profile / My Status" to gain access to the list of activities with the delete option. Move the cursor over the hours to see it.

This didn't fix it though; it seems that when you add a status message that it is copied into another database table/field which is used for the "tooltip". Once I figured this out I gambled and with her password logged in as her and updated her current status minus { jfbclike}.

A nice little experiment might be doing the status update with the { jfbclike}, then seconds later do another update without so that you get that Like in there but it's not caught in the Friend's avatars' tooltip. The operative is to keep anything using {jfbc****} off the current status.
