This has to be a really simple user error - but I cant solve it to save my life!!
littleriverband.com/home/contacts

This contact page is suppose to have nothing but the contacts loading but I have this facebook plug (JFBCSocial) loading at the top and I can't get rid of it! This should only fire duiring an article being read. If I unpublish it leaves a bunch on visible code on the page. It's ugly either way and I'm dying to get rid of it.

Thoughts? Talk to me Goose....

Great balls of fire, what have you done? Unfortunately, I have to admit that you've found a bug. We never tested on the Contacts page (I just recreated the issue on our dev site), but it appears that Joomla actually treats that page as a "Content" page, which then, our plugin decides to go and vomit our Like and Comment code all over.

If you disable it, it should disappear. While not a permanent fix, it should hold you over until we have a fix for the JFBContent plugin. Before you go into a flat spin (alright, done with that), since you say you already disabled it.. I'm assuming you have caching enabled. After you disable the plugin, please clear your cache (Tools->Clean Cache and Tools->Purge Expired Cache in the admin area), and that should prevent the gobbeldy gook from appearing on the page.

Sorry for the trouble, and we've entered a ticket to prevent the Content plugin from appearing on the Contacts page.

If this doesn't help.. well, you know where to find us.

Reading again.. do make sure you're disabling the JFBCContent plugin (in the Content group) and leaving the JFBCSystem and JFBCSocial Plugins (in the System group) enabled. Just want to make sure.

Alex

thanks for the reply - I have done prescribed and it does serve as a temporary solution. It was driving me crazy. Was about to div it out on the template css, in fact I had and it worked but wasn't an elegant solution. This helps for now

Thank you sir

Flat spin too, come on! Sorry about the troubles again, and glad to hear the problem is (temporarily) fixed.

We also recently realized that the JFBContent plugin isn't even shown on the JFBConnect Overview page, so that will be added in the next release of JFBConnect to let you know when future updated versions are available. We'll post here to let you know as well.

Thanks for your patience.

We've just released a new version of JFBConnect tonight which should fix the above issue of tags showing up on the Contact Page (even though it sounds like you worked around it earlier).

The new release pretty much overhauls the JFBCContent and JFBCSystem plugins and eliminates the need for the JFBCSocial plugin. There are tons of new options for configuring the Content plugin now and new social tags available for the System plugin. Check it out - there's lots of new bells and whistles to play with.
