talthompson,
Sorry about the issues you are having. I'm planning on creating more videos to show how to configure everything, but haven't had the time yet.
First thing I would try is checking your Facebook application settings? Go to [url:o21ycbdb]http://www.facebook.com/developers/[/url:o21ycbdb] and select the application you created. Make sure the API key matches the one you set in the parameters. Also, make sure the callback URL matches the site you are using JFBConnect on. For the demo on CMSMarket ([url:o21ycbdb]http://www.cmsmarket.com/community/cmsm-groups/invite-your-friends[/url:o21ycbdb]), the callback URL is [url:o21ycbdb]http://www.cmsmarket.com/[/url:o21ycbdb].
Next, try going to the following URL on your site (make sure to change the domain to match yours):
[url:o21ycbdb]http://CHANGETOYOURDOMAIN/index.php?option=com_jfbconnect&view=xdreceiver&format=raw[/url:o21ycbdb]
The page will be blank, but you will see a script include tag if you view the source. Facebook requires this page to exist on your site to use Facebook Connect. From the error message you listed below (500 - View not found [name, type, prefix]: xdreceiver, fbml, facebookView), it sounds like it may be having issues getting to that view. This could be caused by a bad callback url, using an SEF component on your Joomla site, etc. As long as you can call the page in a browser, though, Facebook should be able to call it as well.
The test user parameter isn't used for live functionality. There are 3 demo views that come with the JFBConnect component that Facebook provides in their "Trying out Facebook Connect" tutorial and the second one needs a Facebook user ID. You can see the different demo views by adding a new menu item to your site and looking under the JFBConnect component. These are just for demonstration purposes, so I wouldn't make the menu item available to the public
If none of this fixes your issue, send us some more info about your setup:
- Windows or Linux?
- PHP version?
- Joomla version?
- Do you have any SEF (core or component) running on your Joomla site?
Let us know how it goes,
