Hello,
Just found this today and installed...great extension! Using on site with Jomsocial.
www.catholictechtalk.com

My only problem is logging out, getting a 500 internal server error...here's the Url being returned:
www.catholictechtalk.com/component/jfbco...bG9naW4uaHRtbA%3D%3D

Any ideas?

thx
Craig

Check the JFBConnect Overview page for any errors. Mainly, I think in the Required Extension area, there may be a not about the ordering of the user plugin. I say this, because when I login with Facebook, it still has the "Connect?" link, which indicated JFBConnect doesn't think a Facebook user is logged in. If there's other errors though, try and correct those obviously as well.

If it is the ordering issue, see this page for how to resolve it.

The redirect URL, I can tell, is setup to go to /home/login.html, which is a page that works, so that's our best initial guess. Another thing to try is to turn off Logout Redirection, and see if you properly remain on the same page. It may not be what you want, but will help us diagnose the issue.

Thanks!

Hey Alex,
Thanks for the speedy response!

OK...I'm stumped here.
- I've disabled any/all caching
- disabled jfbconnect 'redirection' everywhere I've found it.
- Set the Jomsocial login/logout redirection to 'frontpage'...it doesn't have an option to disable
- I've reinstalled the extension
- user plugins are in the correct order

I'm attaching a screenshot of my jfbconnect overview...one of the items is not checked...not sure why. Bug or should there be a checkmark?

Also...I'm using .htaccess / modrewrite to redirect all catholictechtalk.com to www.catholictechtalk.com. Not sure if that matters or not here.

Any more suggestions? Thanks!

The checkmark is intentionally missing, but we'll be adding it in the next release because it's causing too much confusion.

In your picture, I can see the error under the "Required Extensions" that says "The Joomla User Plugin should be ordered before the JFBConnect User Plugin" (or something like that). Please make sure that the Joomla plugin has a lower number (not equal) to the JFBConnect User plugin.

The mod-rewrite or .htaccess shouldn't affect it, as that's how tons of site operate. If you're using another SEF manager (sh404SEF, AceSEF, etc), let us know as that could be a problem, but first and foremost, fix the User plugin ordering :)

Keep us posted. We'll get to the bottom of this. Speedy responses are what we (always try to) do, thanks for subscribing!

OK...it's way too late and I've been staring at too many plugins that contain the letter J!

I was putting the jomsocial user plugin ahead of yours...not j user. All is working correctly!

One last question ... should there be a checkmark in the status column for JFBConnect? Wasn't sure about that one.

On a side note...I've used A LOT of joomla extensions the past few years on a number of client sites. Kudos on your work so far...you've got a really good thing going and if Facebook keeps dominating the social scene, extensions like yours are very valuable.

Glad you got it. We agree about the whole Jxxx extension naming, and if we did it again, we'd come up with something more original.

As for the check, yes, it's supposed to be missing because if you're in the component, it works.. so we didn't put the check mark there. However, we've heard how confusing this is, and we'll have that pesky checkmark there in the next release :) Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the praise. We definitely are proud of the extension, and we'd love Facebook to keep being as popular as it is (not that 500+ million users isn't enough). We plan to continue developing, and supporting it, for quite a while just as we've been doing for 2 years now.

Finally, if your happy with the extension, or our support, please feel free to leave a review on the JED. We'd definitely appreciate it, but it's by no means necessary.

Good luck, and glad we got everything figured out for you!
