Can you assist me I can't seem to get the FB avatar or status to import into the jomsocial profile? I've checked to make certain that images/avatar directory is writable. I noticed another forum post where someone mentioned needing an images/comprofiler that wasn't available so I created that directory and made it writable. I have the JFBConnect - Profiles - JomSocial plugin activated and under profiles I have the "Always Import Profile Data:" set to yes and the "Import Avatar:" set to yes. Any assistance is appreciated.

Currently, we don't support import of status into jomsocial, just profile information and avatar. We're working on an update which should inclue status updates as well.

As for the avatar, there's a few things to chec. First, is the profile informaton properly importing? That helps ensure that the connection to facebook is working. Next, can you check the /tmp directory of Joomla to see if there are any jfc_*** files in there? This is where we store images before importing them. If not, make sure tha directory is writable. If that doesn't help, please let us know what version of JFBConnect, JomSocial, and Jooa you are using.

Thanks!

Thank you for getting back to me.
1)The profile information does not appear to be importing, I'm only importing birthday and bio and I don't see them
2)There are no jfc files in /tmp
3)/tmp is writable

Just downloaded all JFC code today:
JFC Connect 3.1.1
JomSocial 2.0.3
Joomla 1.5.22

Thanks.

Hmmm. The next things to check are that the user is being created properly as well. Can you check the following to help us narrow down the problem:
- On the jfbconnect overview page, are there any errors or warnings?
- Is the user actually being created? Check the user manger after you log in to see if they are there.
- Next, make sure that the jfbconnect user plugin is firing. It should be ordered higher than the joomla plugin, but not higher than other user plugins.
- Finally, enable reporting of facebook api errors in jfbconnect, and let us know if you see any when you try to log in.

1) I'm not certain what the fbconnect overview page is, can you assist?
2) yes the user is being created, I see it in the joomla user manager and the jomsocial user manager
3)Not sure how to tell if it is firing but I can tell you it is above the joomla one underneath jomsocial and k2
4)Errors are activated but I don't see any, not sure where they would show up though.

Thank you!

The overview page is the main admin page for JFBConnect. It has the extension check for versions and other information. Most errors are called out in red, but if the user is being created like you say, I don't think you'll see any problems there.

I think at this point, it may be necessary to see your actual site and configuration, if possible. If you can, please PM us the site URL and a super admin account. We're careful when we're in there, but may temporarily break something while debugging (to test).

Thanks, and we'll help you get to the bottom of the problem.

You're fixed now. The problem was the ordering of the JFBConnect User plugin. The Joomla User plugin needed to be ordered before (lower) than the JFBConnect one. Once I did that, I registered with my Facebook account and my avatar and birthday transferred over just fine.

Test, but hopefully, that's all you'll need. If you should need more, you know where to find us. If you're using JFBConnect and would like to share your experience, we'd love a review on the JED (link in my signature).

Thanks, and good luck!

Thank you, I see when you said lower I was thinking in terms of ranking of modules where 1 sits higher than 4 so I made the joomla one 3 and the JFBConnect one 4 but by lower you meant that JFBConnect should be 3 and joomla should be 4. Thank you again.

No problem. We try to make it clear, but it's difficult to get the right terminology.

Glad we could help, and thanks for your subscription!
