Suggestion: Add photo, link, video to New User Status Message

It probably won't be in the initial release of 3.1 (already a little later than we expected), but I can see adding more options for the post-to-wall in the 3.1.1 follow-up. The minor point-releases usually come in quick spurts after big updates with bug-fixes and some minor new features like you're asking.

I've taken note of the request, and like the idea.

As for Weekly/Monthly login status message, how would you envision that working? If a user visit's once, and logs in 3 months later, what would it do? For someone that logs in frequently, what would it do? Helping us think through what you're looking for helps us determine the possibility and how we could go about implementing it.

We like the idea of an offline message, but it's not something we support at all right now. It should just be a matter of requesting an additional permission from the user, but we also try to tread carefully to not let our subscribers overstep boundaries by abusing their users. It's not necessarily our place, but is something we try to keep in mind (why we give warnings in the Login and Registration messages to be careful). Again, these are things we'll be working on improving and implementing in future releases.

As for 3.1, originally (we'll be honest) we were hoping for it to be out at the end of November. We're not shooting for end of December, which seems realistic. At worst, it shouldn't be later than early January, but the holidays can always make things more crazy. We generally don't give specific release dates for this specific reason.. we're a small, small company, so things crop up, slow things down, and generally can mess with our idealized schedule. By this time next month, I'm confident 3.1 will be out. I'd love it if it were out a lot sooner.
