Hi,

I noticed I can use like, comment & share within an article - btw, you can't use share with any of the other two while like and comment work fine on same article (is that intended?). But any other like friends or invite you will need to keep in a module?

As I'm new to Joomla as well it might be more a joomla question than a JFB one. I want to display a Welcome Article to new user & wanted to include the invite option. But if invite is a module it would be always visible? Any thoughts?

Unfortunately, the Share button has a conflict with Facebook's own Graph API libraries. We've left the Share functionality in the Social plugin, but have disabled downloading of the module for the time being to prevent additional confusion. For more information on the issue, please read this topic:

If you have any questions, please let us know. We'll do what we can to help.

As for how to do what you're looking for with a welcome article and the invite module, what you'd want to do is create an article, then create a specific menu item linking to this article, and then put the JFBCInvite module on this page. For more details, here ya go:
*Create your article (sounds done)
* Create a menu item of type Articles->Article->Article Layout
** Select your article as in the right side parameters of the menu
* In the module manager, create a new instance of the JFBCInvite module.
** In the Menu Assignment section of the module (when editing it), choose the "Select Menu Items From the List" and choose the menu you created above.

Finally, redirect users to this page. This page/menu item will be the only page that will show this instance of the Invite module.

In case you don't want an 'exposed' menu item that can normally be clicked on, you can create a new Menu (we generally call it "Hidden") and then add the menu item there. If you don't create a menu module to display this menu, it will function as normal, but your user's will never 'see' the menu.

Hope this is pretty clear. If not, just let us know, we'll gladly help you figure it out, even if it's not directly related to JFBConnect. We like to help users, and especially new Joomla users get used to the new system!

Hi,

ok, see the point with the Share functionality. won't use it going forward.

And your hint with hidden module works fine. just discovered from another post that there is the advanced module mgr doing more or less the same directly in the options. Works brillinatly!

Advanced Module Manager is super powerful, and definitely recommended for any Joomla site.

Good luck, and let us know if you have any other questions!
