Thank you for you PM! I logged into your site and was able to determine that there is a bug in Facebook's PHP API. There is a library called 'curl' which is intended to get information from other websites. Unfortunately, this is disabled on your site (not common). Facebook has a fallback method for sites with it disabled and they forgot to return an important value, which is why your Facebook information was flaky at best.
Once this was fixed, I found another bug with importing avatars into JomSocial when curl is not available. They've both been fixed on your system, and will be included in all future releases (the next should be ~mid next week).
If anyone else is experiencing this, and it's urgent to fix, send me a PM and we'll get you fixed up (more testers are good). If you can wait a few days, just wait for the next release. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Csabatoldi:
I deleted your unknown users, so you should be able to start with a clean slate now. Apologies for not catching this sooner, and thanks for the login information to catch it!
Finally, for now, I wouldn't worry about the .htaccess file. That's only important when there are multiple ways to reach your domain (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="
www.toldiandco.com">
www.toldiandco.com AND
toldiandco.com">
toldiandco.com). On your dev site, the only method to reach your site is (
dev.toldiandco.com">
dev.toldiandco.com). When you move to the live site, if you can't get the htaccess file working then, you know where to post :)
