I would like to remove a comment but when I go to Facebooks's moderate comments tool, nothing appears.

We're investigating why the moderation tool has been especially flakey lately. A good/better solution for now is to add the AppId or specific users to your Open Graph tags as administrators. This will allow you to moderate the comments on the page itself.

To do so, go into the Social configuration area in the JFBConnect admin area. Click the Open Graph tab, and then make sure Open Graph integration is enabled. In the big box, type:
app_id=xxxxx
Where xxxxx is your Facebook application ID

Alternatively, or in addition, you can specify individual moderators for your site by adding the following tag:
admins=xxxxx,yyyyy,zzzz
Where xxxx, yyyy, and zzzz are the Facebook User IDs of specific user's that can administrate comments on your site.

In the next version of JFBConnect, we'll be automatically adding the app ID parameter to make this a little easier, and if we figure out a reason that the moderator tool isn't working well, we'll fix that too.

Hope this helps, and good luck!
Alex

ok I tried that and still nothing. Are all previous comments supposed to show or just since I added the app id?

That change wasn't meant to make all of the comments show in the Comments moderator.. that tool is, unfortunately, a buggy tool from Facebook which doesn't always show the comments.

When you add the AppId to the Open Graph tags, then when you visit the actual page on your site with the comment box while logged into Facebook with a user that's an administrator of your application, there will be additional options to delete comments or change some parameters of how the comment box works.

Hope that helps explain,
Alex

Thanks for the clarification. I tried the process which you explained and the only options I see are "Mark as Spam" and "Report as abuse". I have set the app_id and set myself and another user as admins and we both only see those two options and nothing about how the comment box works. I'm sure it's probably something stupid that I am missing but can not for the life of me figure it out. Other than this small issue that I am having, it is awesome.

I've attached a screenshot of what the comment box should look like after the admin tags have been added:
File Attachment:

At the top, you'll see the Moderator View and Settings buttons which let you make some changes to the widget on that page or across the whole site. Additionally, beneath each comment is a moderator drop-down.

I'm not sure why that's not happening to you, but it may be a caching issue from Facebook. You can try the Facebook Linter tool which will re-scan the page for any new Open Graph tags. Facebook will normally re-scan your page every 24-72 hours, so all your comment boxes will be updated in time, but until then, just throwing the URL in the following tool may just fix your issue for specific pages until the re-scan occurs:
developers.facebook.com/tools/lint

Hope that does it for you, but if not, you know where to find us!

I'm still not seeing what's shown in the attached image. I did run the Facebook Lint tool and still nothing. I did have a warning in the Lint tool which was,
Required Property Missing og:type is required
Required Property Missing og:image is required

The rest of the information came back with no errors.

Just to be on the same page, I have the component installed with only the Content plugin and Kunena integration installed and published. All the rest are unpublished and the comments are at the end of article content.

If you wouldn't mind temporarily adding me as an admin to the page, I'd like to see what happens for me. We haven't heard of this issue before where someone can't moderate, but we'll get to the bottom of it.

In the Open Graph configuration area, can you add my Facebook User ID using either of the methods below (depending on whether you already are specifying admins or not):
admins=1251253607 (if I'm the only admin you're specifying)
or
admins=xxxxxxx,yyyyyyyy,1251253607 (if there are other admins you've already specified as xxx and yyy)

Then, let me know the URL of a page with comments that isn't working. You can private message it to us if you don't want it to be public.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks for the Private Message.

Upon initially going to the page you sent me, I was not able to see the moderation tools. I then used the Facebook Linter, which in the debug section properly showed my Facebook User Id (along with 2 others). After that, when I refreshed the page, the moderation tools were available to me. I can send a screen capture if you'd like, but please test again with one of the user's whose Facebook IDs you've added. Hopefully, it will work now. If not, I'll be terribly confused.

Thanks,
Alex
