I just tried on your site and after clicking the LinkedIn button was brought to the EasySocial registration page with my profile information properly filled in. That means things are working properly for me.

Can you try:
* Logging in with a different LinkedIn account to see what happens
* Setting the "Enable Debug Mode" option in the JFBConnect -> Configuration area to "Yes". Then try to login and see if there is an error message that may help explain why it's not working.

Not sure what's happening, but we'll help you get to the bottom of it.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. First of all i just upgraded from Jlinked to jfbconnect yesterday not sure if this has anything to do with this. Everything was working fine before the upgrade.

The auto tune claims that my subscription is not active??

I tried to login with a different linkedin account. The first time it took me to the linkedin authorization page, i filled in the information then was taken to my home page still not logged in. Tried again and after the linkedin authorization page it takes me to the easysocial login page with a message that says "please login first"

debug does not show anything, but maybe i do not know where to look

Tried with IE explore and chrome, same results.

I see that you have successful runs on July 3 and July 4th. If you're still seeing this, please go to the My Account -> My Profile page on this site and make sure you've entered your Subscriber ID correctly. It's possible it changed if you changed your password on this site, but it generally shouldn't.

As for authentication, I just tried on your site again. I also was redirected to the EasySocial login page with a message of "Please login first". That indicates you changed the "Enable Automatic Registration" setting to "Yes" in JFBConnect as my account was automatically created.

However, JFBConnect can't automatically log the user in after the account was created because you have account moderation enabled in EasySocial. I know that because I also received an email with the following:

Your account is pending moderation from one of our moderators.
Once your account is approved, you'll receive another email shortly.

Can you enable the "Skip Joomla Activation" setting in JFBConnect? That will skip activation for new social network users and automatically create their account.

Try that, and let me know how it goes.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi, doubled checked my subscriber id and still getting invalid subscription. I then changed my password and tried the new id. same result.

I tried as you suggested and When i click on login with linkedin button it still takes me to the easysocial registration page with the message "please login first" I tried with multiple linkedin accounts and several users already setup to login with linkedin report the same issue.

After you add the Subscriber ID, please go to the "Facebook App" section and hit the "Refresh" button. That will refresh your subscriber information. Let me know if you still see that message after you do that.

I tried as you suggested and When i click on login with linkedin button it still takes me to the easysocial registration page with the message "please login first" I tried with multiple linkedin accounts and several users already setup to login with linkedin report the same issue.

That's likely the correct behavior. Can you check the EasySocial user manager and see if the account is listed as "Activated". If not, that's why it's returning the user to the EasySocial page.

You'll want to make sure you have Skip Activation enabled in JFBConnect *before* you create a new account. Try deleting the Joomla user that's already been created and register again. Also, you can test by 'activating' the user and make sure they can successfully login after you've done so.

Let me know how that goes,
Alex

Hi, Still having invalid subscription id.

There are no new users only users that migrated from jlinked.

Tried with a new user account and same result. is jfbconnect the same function as jlinked? i just want my users to click on the login with linkedin button and be logged into the site. Thats the way jlinked worked. If i have to deleat all the user and start over whats the point of the migration? I think i might need to get a refund on this an look for another solution

My account was a new user. Can you check the account that was created for me earlier today? My name is Alex Andreae and I got the email I mentioned above about my account needing moderator approval. Activation or administrator approval definitely seems enabled. Can you please let me know:
* Is activation or admin approval enabled in EasySocial
* What is the "Skip Joomla Activation" setting set to in JFBConnect
That is important information for new users, which is what I'm seeing.

As for existing users, please go to the JFBConnect -> Usermap area:
* Filter by provider. Select "LinkedIn".
* Find the account for your LinkedIn user that you're trying to connect with.
* Click the name in the "Joomla User" account.
That will bring you to the Joomla User manager area for that user. Make sure it's the correct user that should be logged in when you try to login using LinkedIn. Specifically, make sure it's not a *new* account that may have been created for some reason.

The functionality of JFBConnect is the same as it was for JLinked and we haven't heard of any users with migration issues like your talking about.

Also, can you tell me if you changed your LinkedIn application recently? You should not have created a new application or anything like that when transitioning to JFBConnect from JLinked.

I'll look more into the subscriber ID thing, but it's a lesser issue than the migration stuff right now.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi, i sent you a PM with login credentials for my site. feel free to check and verify my settings. The lilnked api settings are the same. apparently linkedin has some new requirements for oath2 to work. Do i need to implement those settings?

Thanks for the credentials. The issue was that both the User and Authentication plugins for JFBConnect were disabled:
Authentication - JFBConnect
User - JFBConnect

I enabled both of those and authentication now works just as I'd expect. Please test, but I think you should be good to go now.

Thanks,
Alex
