I just installed the latest version com_jfbconnect_j2.5_v5.2.0 to my Joomla Joomla! 2.5.14 with JomSocial Version: 3.0.5.3.
Despite my efforts, I can't get the autotune to detect everything. I even uninstalled, reinstalled and created a new app ID etc.

This is the error I get:

Facebook API Error: (#100) canvas_url URL is not properly formatted

Arthur,
We're investigating. Facebook changed something last night that is breaking how we save settings in Autotune. We're looking into the cause and will hopefully have an update out soon.

It looks like you've run Autotune recently. There haven't been any substantial changes in the recommendations our tool would make right now. If you are having issues though, please let us know, and we'll gladly help you update things as necessary.

Thanks,
Alex

Has the issues with Facebook been determined? I'm working on a new install and still having the same issues. Is it okay to send you the credentials? Can't recall if this is public or not.

Arthur,
I apologize for the delay. The v5.2.1 release should be out within a few hours. That clears up the issues with changes to Facebook that are preventing Autotune from properly saving settings.

I hope that helps answer your question. Sending credentials won't do much as we won't be able to edit your Facebook app either. The new release should get everything going properly.

Thanks,
Alex

I installed the update and still have issues. Maybe it's something else? This is the error I got:

Facebook API Error: (#100) canvas_url URL is not properly formatted

But I don't' even have a URL set for the app.

After you upgrade to v5.2.1, please hit the "Refresh" button in the menu bar of the FB App area. That will refetch your settings and update things in your database so that they can be saved properly.

Let me know if you still have issues after doing that.

Thanks,
Alex

That seemed to do the trick. Everything on the backend is green and setup correctly. But on the frontend I still can't register using Facebook. I haven't tried twitter or google yet.

The problem now is that the Bootstrap Javascript isn't being properly loaded. That library is required for the "You are now being logged in" popup to show after the user logs in.

To fix, either
* Disable the "Show 'Logging in' Popup" in the Configuration -> Facebook area of JFBConnect
* Enable the "Include jQuery" setting in the configuration area of JFBConnect. This will load a compatibility mode version of all the Javascript JFBConnect needs, which shouldn't cause any conflicts with other extensions.

Almost there! Keep us posted how that goes,
Alex

That did the job. Almost there, stay with me :-) Comments seems to work, but on Facebook its showing the title of the page, which is fine. But it's also showing giberish from the page I don't want seen. Best way to explain it is to show you.

See screen shot:

Page it's coming from:

How can I remove the details I don't want seen on facebook?
