Hi,
I read this article www.sourcecoast.com/forums/jfbconnect/jf...facebook-/-jomsocial on how to get the JFBconnect to show Gender Sync in configuration while having Jomsocial Gender in Select Box Mode. I am interested in tweaking the jomsocial.php file under plugins/socialprofiles and add the SQL line on a template override. At the moment, I'm using the textbox in Jomsocial and when a user connects with JFB, his/her gender is not imported. When they delete their profile picture, the default avatar is not showing up. The reason is, Jomsocial 3.0 has this built in user_Male, user_Female. Both seems to be case sensitive. If a user types male instead of Male, then the default Jomsocial Avatar won't show up. Therefore, I'm left with only the selectbox option and I want to get the tweak mentioned on your forum for my site.

How can i create a template override for the same so that I won't loose the tweak when updating?

Sriram,
Sorry for the delayed response. Right now, our profile plugins don't support a template override. You'd have to modify our files directly and make the same change on an update. We have a few plans for improving the profile import and registration flow in general when using 3rd party systems, including supporting gender import automatically. We're hoping it will be in the 5.2 release, but it may not fully be implemented until 5.3 (around the end of this year).

So, it's something you'll have to manually do now and maybe for a few updates, but you shouldn't have to deal with it too long.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex

Hi Alex,
Thanks for your reply. I've already modified the file manually and will do the same upon updating. Looking forward for the improved version :) Have a great day!

Awesome. Glad to hear you have something that works for you, for now. We'll be updating our blog with a new registration flow option that will be in v5.2. That may be what you're looking for as well. Keep an eye out for the post over the next few days.

Thanks,
Alex
