FB posts are Locked and are 'Only Me' read only

That's likely not caused by the App itself, but by your own privacy settings. Go to the Account Settings area in Facebook.com and check that settings like "Who can see my stuff?" are set to Public and not "Friends Only" or "Only Me".

An app can't override a user's own privacy settings.

I'm not sure I understand this either. We'll look into it a little more, but this isn't something we've heard of before. Obviously, if you narrow anything down, let us know as well as I'm unsure what logging into the site could have to do with the privacy of posts.
