Hello I would like to show to a client the ability to have articles posted on the users behalf automatically from reading an article. I believe I have everything setup correctly on the facebook app and JFB end as both the object/action types. Object type is article and action type "Is Reading" setup between both facebook and JFB. I correctly get the notification on my website for the auto-post but it does not show up on my facebook timeline. Anything obvious that I may be missing?

In Facebook, go to the "Activity Log" using the button in the bottom right of your cover photo. If it shows there, that's all you can do. Facebook decides which actions show up in the user's Timeline, news feed, friend ticker, and other social channels. Until it's submitted to and approved by Facebook, it will not show anywhere.

Even then, the read action is a very 'light' social engagement in Facebook's eyes, so it's unlikely it will show in the Timeline of users.. However, it should show in other ways (like the friend ticker feed) that should increase visibility of the page.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Everything else shows up correctly that I do on my activity log such as likes or comments but the "read" activity how does not. The pop-up does come up however in the bottom right hand corner saying that it posted but it doesn't go to Facebook.

Ken,
I'm not sure why it wouldn't show in the activity log. That's a strange one. I wouldn't be surprised if it's not in your Timeline, but everything should go in your Activity Log.

Can you try logging into our Demo site (demo.sourcecoast.com/) and just sitting on the home page. That should post a read action as well. Let me know if that goes in your Activity Log as it will help narrow down what may be happening.

Thanks,
Alex

Hmmm... I'm not sure why it wouldn't post from your site.

Can you check and let me know a few more things:
* In your JFBConnect -> Open Graph -> Activity Log is the read action showing there? Is there any error message?
* In you Facebook Developer area, if you go to Open Graph, is there a 'Submit' link or 'Preview' link next to the read action? If so, that means that Facebook has properly detected the read action being submitted from your app.
* Try from a different Facebook user and see if the results are any different.

Hopefully that helps narrow something down, but beyond that, I'm at a bit of a loss.

Thanks,
Alex
