Hi Alex,

i found this issue several times in the forum, but i didn't find any solution. i work with joomla 3.x.x ! As i wanna use the board possibilities, i started to use the article fields "first image" and "image". Thats way better than always code an image into the articles...

But in the end, the og:image is not showing up in the code. So i think you didn't fix this issue nor did you implemented the solution to find the pictures inside these two fields, right? When can we expect this?

Second thing: I need a standard description for several pages, so i set a description in the Open Graph Configuration. But now it always shows up in every article. Even if i set a Open Graph Object for specific categories which should use "Intro Words" as Description Type...

EDIT: and even if i use {SCOpenGraph description=...} inside an article, it will be overridden by the standard description set in Open Graph Configuration!!! I think, this is not, how it should be...

This is really urgent as i need to set up a standard Joomla Installation with all these things for different webpages!

If i should provide you with any information about the page, just push me as i need your help...

Cheers,
Rafael

Rafael,
The v5.1 release, due out next week, will support the Joomla article 'image' parameter for Open Graph tags. There is also a fix for the prioritization of how description tags are used. There is a bug currently where if you have set a default description tag, the SCOpenGraph description tag will not be used. We'd recommend not setting a default description tag in the configuration area for now. This will also be fixed in v5.1.

I hope that explains. If you need help immediately, you can likely create a Custom Open Graph object and use an Itemid or catid for the articles that you want a fixed description in to work. Alternatively, for now, you'll have to use the {SCOpenGraph description=xyz} text in each article to set the value.

Hi Alex, are there any news about the update? This issue isn't still fixed, and it is a lot of work to integrate in every single article the {SCOpenGraph...}. Even, that i need to remove them, when you announce the update... You said it should come out this week - but the week's over now... well, no, we still have the weekend... ;-)

Cheers up,
Rafael

Rafael,
The next release will actually be out on Monday. Installation on this site and some early beta testing uncovered some minor issues that pushed it back a few days.

We'll be sending out a new version tonight to our testers and will include you on that release.

As with all new versions of any extension, we recommend testing on a development site first. This release can't be easily downgraded, but from initial feedback, that isn't a concern.

Thanks for your patience,
Alex

Alex, thank you so much. By the way, as i do a lot of pages i can always test for you. Downgrading isn't a thing for me, as i always have backups, before i install new extensions...
If you want to have a look on the page i talk about on this issue, feel free to visit the page www.hobbitcon.de/en/

I will install the beta on saturday on another page, which need to be updated at all, so i can give you good feedback.

Cheers man - your team is doing a great job
Rafael

This is Rafael again. Alex in the mail, there is twice the same link. both zips are for for j25. but the link text is different. one says j30. by trying to install this version joomla says:
This installer is for Joomla 2.5. Please download the Joomla 3.x installer from SourceCoast.

i just copied the text of the link into the browser and i got it! just wanna tell you that the link is wrong!
