Hi tehre,

A week ago I asked about some problems and you really helped me out very well.
Especialy the question on how to replace the like verb into some other wod was appreciated.

The specifiv problem I have now is that all comments from only one particular article have been removed.
These were comments on the funeral service of the young man that died in a car accident in our community.

Many people, sisters and friends have been giving nice comments and these all disappeared overnight.

What can be the cause of this and can they be retreived.

thanks for your kind help, it is appreciated by many

André,
Please try going to the Facebook Comments Moderation tool on Facebook:
developers.facebook.com/tools/comments

Once there, make sure you're Application is selected on the left. You should then see a list of all the comments made on your site. See if you can find the comments that were on that article.

If you find one in the Tool that isn't displaying on your site, click on the date in the bottom right of the post. That should take you to the page that the comment is displayed on. Check that the URL is the same as the page you aren't seeing the comments on or see if there's anything else that may be different.

I hope that helps you locate the comments either in the moderation tool or on your site somewhere. If you do find them, we should be able to diagnose why they are missing.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks Alex,

I made a mistake, I moved the article into another category after a few days.
Instead of the general category I moved it into the IN Memoriam category.
I put it back in the Original category and the comments became visible again.
Million thanks

kind regards,

André

Glad to hear we could help. Facebook Like's and Comments are very tied to URLs. If you switch a URL, you'll loose the comments. There are ways to tell FB to show the comments from a different URL, but it can cause some other complications when doing so.

In general, the guideline is to try to keep your URLs the same wherever possible, although that can be inconvenient sometimes.

Either way, glad we could help, and should you need anything else, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex
