Login Issue was created by krilut
I have the SCLogin module on the front page of my website www.concertmaniac.com/ but when people try to log in via the facebook link, it flashes a screen which quickly disappears and nothing happens. The weird thing is that when I try to log in with the facebook link, it works. The only thing I can think of that was different is that I already had a user name created and it was able to link my facebook email with my joomla profile. Tried searching the forums for a similar issue but didn't find anything. Thanks for your help.

Kristoff,
A few things could be causing the problem. First off, did you run Autotune in JFBConnect for your Facebook App, or did you configure itself? I'm seeing the same problem you mention. If I go to the non-www version of your site, there is a Javascript message that your app may be configured incorrectly and that Facebook login won't work on the non-www version of your page. Autotune usually takes care of your settings so that things should work on the www and non-www versions of your page.

So, if you haven't already, run Autotune, go to the FB App section and hit "Refresh". Make sure all the recommendations are set or make modifications as necessary.

After that, try again. Possibly, also try with a different template, though I don't think that's the cause.

I'm also not sure what you mean when you say "The weird thing is that when I try to log in with the facebook link, it works. " What "log in with facebook link" works? I only see one, and it didn't work for me.

Finally, on an unrelated note, in the Javascript is the following message from Twitter:

TWITTER WIDGET: This widget is being deprecated, and will cease functioning soon. <Invalid consumer key/secret in configuration> widget.js:12
TWITTER WIDGET: You can obtain a new, upgraded widget from <Invalid consumer key/secret in configuration> widget.js:12

It sounds like you may need to start looking for a new Twitter stream widget soon.

Keep me posted on the above. Not sure what's wrong, but we'll help you get to the bottom of things.

Thanks,
Alex

Oh yeah... I'm jealous you got to see Shiny Toy Guns. We Are Pilots is one of my favorite albums. Never seen them live before, and haven't checked out the latest album yet. Definitely will now after reading your review :D

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, Alex!

I should have mentioned that I ran autotune when I first installed JFBConnect and followed the instructions to the T, which were very thorough and easy by the way. I have the configuration set to normal registration with email, user and password fields showing

What I meant by it works for me is that JFBConnect will automatically log me into the site when I visit the front end or if I click on the "Log In With Facebook" link on the homepage.

I just tried logging into the site without the www and now I'm getting the same issue which is good because now I can try things and see if it fixes it.

Trying a different template had no effect.

Kristoff

PS: The new Shiny Toy Guns album is excellent. I for one am extremely happy that Carah has returned to the band, there's a few songs on the album that have to do with her leaving and returning, it's called "III", check it out!

Ahh.. try going into the App Developer Area , click into your app, and make sure that Sandbox Mode is Disabled. That's likely whey users, other than your Facebook administrator user, don't work. We need to update our configuration guide to make that more clear as that's the *one* setting we can't enable/disable remotely.. which is quite annoying.

Let me know how that goes, and thanks for the info on Shiny Toy Guns. Will definitely get III soon.

Thanks,
Alex

Yup, that fixed the issue, thanks for all your help! I should've noticed that, it says Sandbox Mode: On in red letters as if trying to say something.

Awesome! No problem for the help. It's what we're here for. Definitely try in both www and non-www though to make sure it works in both. Honestly, we'd recommend redirecting one to the other so that only one variant works. It's better for search engines 'n stuff if you only allow one, but that's up to you.

Finally, if you haven't already, please consider leaving a rating and review for JFBConnect, or our support, on the Joomla Extension Directory. It certainly isn't required, but is very appreciated:

Thanks,
