Hi it seems the module is conflicting with another login module we use.

Issue:
Since installing the existing login module that is AJAX pop up powered now only shows login with facebook, before install this module only showed the normal Username / Password utility in an AJAX pop up window.

Your FB login module is not coming up in an AJAX pop up window, instead performs a full page load and then gives the options on a whole page.

Wanted solution:
Both modules should be independent, existing (green button Login / Register module) should open in AJAX window as it used to offering normal site login
Your module should also open in AJAX window and show the relevant options for logging in with facebook.

Cheers in advance.

Site is betterphotoschool.com

What are you using for that Login / Register module? Is that just loading SCLogin in a modal/popup? If not, did you add the {JFBCLogin} tag to the other module?

I need to know a bit more about what you have configured to understand things better. If you are using the SCLogin module, make sure you've enabled the "Show Login Form" setting. That should make things show properly. Also, in a popup, you should use the "Custom Image" option in the SCLogin module as the Javascript button can have issues in an AJAX popup.

I hope that helps get you started, but let me know if you still need help.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi no I am using the BT login module, it is a nice login module if you take a look you will see what I mean and why I am using it. I have changed the button to linked image, I don't want to use the form field login it has, as that is for one redundant to the BT bowthemes.com/joomla-extensions/bt-login-module.html module and two publishes the form to the module position again something I do not want to do.

I only wish to use the facebook connect features of your module, what would be handy is a facebook only button option, this I believe you would be able to be achieved with the options you have in the module config, hence I would say why they are there in the first place.

In essence the module is still loading within the BT module pop up, this is for one the strange part.

If you would like to take a look, or even check out the code that would be appreciated.

Did you modify the module to display the Login with Facebook button anywhere in that popup? I'm still a little confused as to how that module is working.

If you want to display just the Login with Facebook button, there are a few easy options for doing so without using the SCLogin module itself. You can:
* Add the {JFBCLogin} tag anywhere in a template or other output area and the button will show there.
* You can use the following HTML to use your own custom image for the button. This is recommended when used in a popup as there can be conflicts between the Javascript button and Javascript popups:
<a href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="jfbc.login.login_custom();"><img src="/linktoimage.jpg" /></a>
You can also put either of those into a Custom HTML module and use that by itself. That way, you have full control and just get the Login with Facebook button.

Hope that helps,
Alex

Unfortunately I have had to uninstall it as even if all the plugins are disabled the original login module will not work, once I uninstalled all the plugins it worked again.

Patrick,
I'm a bit confused about what you uninstalled, what works, and where your at.

Unfortunately I have had to uninstall it

What did you uninstall? JFBConnect or the BT Login module?

even if all the plugins are disabled the original login module will not work

What plugins need to be disabled? What is the original login module? Do you mean that JFBConnect is causing problems with the standard Joomla login module? We don't affect that module in any way when we are installed. Have you tried the Joomla module on its own, outside of the BT Login module to verify it is still broken when it is standalone?

once I uninstalled all the plugins it worked again.

Not sure what 'it' is. I'm assuming the standard Joomla login module. Again though, JFBConnect shouldn't affect the functionality of the standalone Joomla login module, so I'm not sure what's happening.

We'll gladly investigate however we can. I'm simply not sure what the problem is or how you're using BT Login currently. If you could let me know how you've configured things, or if you've tried the Custom HTML, {JFBCLogin} or custom Login with Facebook image ideas I mentioned above, that would really help.

Thanks,
Alex

I had to uninstall all your plugins. As mentioned and linked to in an earlier post it is not the default login form it is a module from Bow Themes. I did explain all this in my earlier post and even gave you a link to the module itself.

It is unfortunate that for some reason your plugins stopped the other module from working, so I uninstalled yours and have kept theirs and upgraded it to the social login as well so now all I need is taken care of from the BT module.

It is not like it is a great deal of cash, I will maybe use yours on another site but for now it is just not compatible with existing modules.

Cheers

Patrick,
Sorry for my confusion. We'll obviously have to test with the BT Login module. There shouldn't be any reason for our Login with Facebook button to show inside the BT Login module. We don't intentionally try to 'add' our login button to other modules. So, that's where the confusion came from. I simply couldn't understand how our button was showing up there at all, not to mention that somehow the Joomla form was then missing.

Either way, I'm glad you've got a solution you're happy with for your site. We do hope you'll find a use for JFBConnect, but if not, please remember that we have a 30-day money back guarantee. If you'd like to, please feel free to request a refund .

Thanks,
Alex
