Hoping someone can get involved and help please! I have yet to get a grasp on this component and am struggling to get things setup but expect I can hopefully handle the basics. However something that I do not know if its even possible but I would like to have registered users that post Events to my website if these events can sync with their respective facebook accounts

We don't support event syncing with JFBConnect currently. Are you creating these events on Facebook? Or are you creating them on your site and wishing to automatically post them to Facebook? If so, what extension are you using to post events? Any details on what you're trying to do would help so we could give recommendations / plan for future features in JFBConnect.

hello and thank you for the opportunity to contribute -

I would like to have the Facebook Events synced 'From" my site, I am testing 5 different event components to see what might fit best
The Event Modules Are :
Jomsocial Events, RSEventsPro .and J-Business Directory Events - I thought it was odd but in early testing I much prefer the J Business Directory
Any assistance would be appreciated to get things moving in the correct direction

I just did some digging around on the Events API to see what was currently possible. Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything we'd be able to do that you're looking for with how Facebook's API works...

Facebook Page Events:
developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/reference/page/events/

This is a restricted edge. You cannot request access at this time.

There's no support for fetching, creating or updating Events tied to a Page

Facebook Events (by a User):
developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/reference/5.0/event/
This allows you to fetch event details from Facebook so you can show those details on your site.

The things missing are:
* Ability to create a new Event
* Ability for a user to signup to attend an Event

I hope that helps get you some more background on things, but should you have any questions or feedback on the above, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

That video looks to be quite old based on the Facebook login screen and some other things I've seen. Have you seen that functionality work recently?

I'll point you to this post from Facebook from 2018:
developers.facebook.com/blog/post/2018/0...orm-product-changes/

As we begin enhancing our new app review process and make changes to our platform, the Events, Groups, Pages and Instagram APIs will no longer be available to new developers.

You can also check out this post from "The Events Calendar" which is a SaaS all for managing events..
theeventscalendar.com/important-facebook-api-changes/
It leads with:

TL;DR – Facebook added even more restrictions to their API and it sucks for everyone.

And lower down:

Based on the response we received from Facebook, it appears they are universally restricting the ability to import Facebook events to external sites:

I don't think it's possible at all. If you are aware of a site or Joomla extension that is actively importing event details into their site, let us know. We're definitely curious.

Thanks,
Alex
