Dear Mel and Alex,
if I won't give up with yout tool, we will become friends ;)

I tried to connect with LinkedIn this time, and I did everything as was in the documentation, but still my user is not authorized.

I created LinkedIn app, then I logged on my page with linkedin credentials and then with joomla to connect the accounts, then the permision was granted, then user appeard in the user map but the FB App Authorized status was "-". Then I logged off in the front end and logged back in with Linkedin and nothing happned. My linkedin app is still not authorized, and when I go the "channels" and add new one, and choose the user I get message: This user's access token has expired. Please have them re-authenticate on the front-end of the site..

Do you have any other ideas, suggestions?\
I was trying eveything for past hour and nothing worked.
Best,
Kalixo

We haven't heard any recent issues with LinkedIn authentication. I'm unsure why this happened "Then I logged off in the front end and logged back in with Linkedin and nothing happned. ".

If you remove the channel and try to login on the front-end with your LinkedIn credentials, you aren't actually logged into the site? Does the page reload or anything else happen when you try? Are you prompted for your linkedin email, password and shown the permissions prompt? Any details you can provide here would be helpful. We'll need to understand why linkedin login isn't working by itself before trying to get a channel setup.

One thing I would suggest is setting the "Debug Mode" setting in JFBConnect to 'Yes'. That may show extra details when authentication fails. If so, definitely let us know that as well.

Thanks,
Alex

Dear Alex,
I did that.
I deleted my user linked with my account in linkedin in user map. I logged off at the front end. I logged off linked in too.
I logged on with linkedin button at my frontend. Linkedin asked for a permisions (but only my personal data on linkedin account (basic account info + e-mail) - I put the logindata and allowed permisions. My webpage said "thank you for loggin with linkedin..", and I logged in with my joomla credentials to connect my accounts. I get infomration: "integration with linkedin profile was successfull". At backend I can see user linked with linked in, but I see "-" below columns Sent Requests, Received Requests, FB App Authorized.
When I go to Channles and try to add the channel, I choose provider: linkedn in and type: compnay. I choose my user and I see "
This user's access token has expired. Please have them re-authenticate on the front-end of the site."

After turning logging I get the message:
LinkedIn API Error: Error code 403 received requesting data: { "errorCode": 0, "message": "Member does not have permission to get companies as admin.", "requestId": "2XD0ZZA96K", "status": 403, "timestamp": 1534347779771 }.
Any ideas?
Best,
Kalixo

Please re-authenticate one more time on the front-end of your site after you setup the Channel. We don't request all permissions from every user by default, that would prevent users from authenticating. We only request the needed permissions for each user. So, after you setup the Channel, JFBConnect knows to request the additional permissions required to get and post to your Company feed the next time you login.

Save the channel and authenticate on the front-end and let us know if that helps.

As for the settings in the Usermap area, those are Facebook-specific settings that don't apply to any other network. They probably need to be cleaned up and/or removed in the future, but for now, that seems right.

Thanks,
Alex

Dear Alex,
thank you for your help and instructions.

" So, after you setup the Channel, JFBConnect knows to request the additional permissions required to get and post to your Company feed the next time you login. " - it worked!

It seems that this instruction should be placed in the documentation, because if it was, I wouldn't ask for help.

In fact, when I saw that the Channel had problems I didn't save it and didn't try to get permissions.

Thank you once again,
best.

You're correct, we could make it more clear that you need to save the channel first before you re-authenticate. The message for "this token has expired" isn't very accurate either. I'm unsure where that text came from, but we'll look into getting it updated.

Thanks for your feedback,
Alex
