facebook thumbnail and page name not shown after update to FBC ver 8

Could you provide a specific URL? Looking through some of your pages, I can't find one with a FB like or share button. I'd like to inspect the Open Graph tags on the page to figure out why the image preview/description is incorrect.

Is that site running JFBConnect v8.0 or an earlier release? There have been multiple changes to how the feed works recently that only 8.0 fully supports.

If that's not it, let us know as there could be a theme override in place that's masking the changes or something else. Either way, we'll help you get it going once we understand the setup more.

Thanks for confirming your version. I also just noticed it was in the title of your post.. so sorry for asking again.

I just looked through the code to understand why the image may not be showing. The image should show as long as the following is true:
* There is an image in the post
* The "Show Link Info" setting in the module parameters is set to "Full"
My guess is that the last one is what's causing problems.

Similarly, the Facebook logo and page info will only show if the "Show Provider" setting is set to "Show".

Can you check those settings in the module? Hopefully, switching those will get you going, but if not, just let us know.

the problem is that I don't see the Facebook page name and the facebook profile picture/avatar on the top of every post.

The Facebook logo will be shown when you enable the "Show Provider" setting.

Unfortunately, Facebook is changing the details that can be fetched from a Page. The user/poster information is not always available anymore. We're looking into workarounds for this, but due to all the privacy issues they've had lately, they have restricted (and in many cases over-restricted) pulling user information in many contexts.

I hope that helps explain more, but being more specific with any details is always helpful if I'm missing something else.
