Hi everybody,

I have a question about the invitation-requests inside of Facebook created by JFB Connect.
The goal is simple: I like to reward all users that invited friends. But because the invitation is done by Facebook and Joomla doesn´t even get the url this can only be done by an URL.

The reward is done with Altauserpoints, and Altauserpoints automatically creates an individual invitation-URL for every user the question is if this URL can be taken for invitations.

Here an example:

User A and user B have the two following invitation-URLs:

mydomain.com/invitation/A
mydomain.com/invitation/B

So when pressing the invite-button, user A should share the first link while user B should share the second link.

Is this possible?

All the best, Julian!

JFBConnect doesn't support what you're looking for. Facebook's limited the Invitation ability quite a bit over the last few years. They intentionally obscure user IDs and other tracking information to prevent some of the tracking you're looking for. They also have terms of service which restrict rewarding users for inviting others.

Beyond that, our invitation feature is limited to not allow creating dynamic URLs to any page. Right now, the invitations have to be setup ahead of time and are only to a specific URL on your page. That's required for a few reasons. It's something we'd like to improve in the future to allow for invitation links to any URL, but we don't have a timeline on when that would be implemented as it's not currently on our priority list.

I hope that helps explain, even if it's not what you were looking to hear.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

it´s a clear information, so all is okay. It´s just not possible in a realistic way.

However ... how about the share-dialogue? Is it possible to add parameters to the share-dialogue?
This could fullfill something similar. Well, sharing is different then invitating, but however ...
... possible with shares?

All the best, Julian!

No, it's not possible with the Share dialog. Facebook only allows a limit number of settings to configure the Share dialog, described here . We put a small snippet of HTML on the page with those parameters and then Facebook renders it. We can't add on extra functionality.
