The front-end refers to your Joomla site. Special permissions are needed to read/write to Facebook groups, pages and profiles. If you're just setting the channel up the first time, the user wouldn't have approved this permission from your application yet. Now that you've set up a channel in the Joomla backend, when you log in on your site's front-end with SCLogin, JFBConnect will request this scope from Facebook and you should be prompted with a dialog after you click the Facebook login button.
