Only post new content

Whenever a post goes from unpublished to published, it's posted. That generally makes it so that only new content is posted as it's not common to un-publish a post and then republish it later.

We don't have a method to detect 'new' content because there's not really a method within Joomla to know if the page is being published for the first time.

I definitely understand what you mean. As noted though, I don't believe it should be posting the content repeatedly if you're just editing. Are you unpublishing, editing and then re-publishing? If so, that would makes sense for the duplication, although I can definitely see how that could be spammy...
