Hi,

After loging in with a FaceBook account I would like to redirect it to a specific page.

I have auto login selected when entering the website. Rigth now it brings me to: SITE.com/component/jfbconnect/?view=loginregister&provider=facebook&return=CODENR

This is not what I have selected in the Configuration>General tab Login/Logout

What am I missing here?

So that's actually the page that loads when somebody is already connected through FaceBook.

How can I turn this off?

I only want to use auto login when it has created a Joomla account and has connected it with facebook.

If you're seeing that page, the user has not been created on your site yet. They have pushed the Facebook button to login but don't have it mapped to a Joomla account yet. The Login / Register view is the page that a new user is directed to when you have the 'Automatic Registration' setting disabled or the user has attempted to log in via a social network that does not support import of email address (such as Twitter). It is a mini registration form that needs to be filled out before the user is created.

Facebook does allow for email address import, so please enable the 'Automatic Registration' setting in the JFBConnect > Configuration > General tab and that should solve your issue.

Strange, because when I am logged in with FaceBook this page loads immediately without pushing any button at all (there is no User map).

I definately do not want to have Automatic Registration enabled since registration is handled through another system that enables me to automatically add a new user to a Joomla group I specified.

So I only want 'Auto Login FB user' when there is a account with joomla that is connected with a FaceBook 'User Map' or other social media network.

So I only want 'Auto Login FB user' when there is a account with joomla that is connected with a FaceBook 'User Map' or other social media network.

You'll need to disable the "Auto-login Facebook User" option then. JFBConnect can only detect if the user has approved your Facebook Application. In almost all cases, that usually means they have created an account on your site as well. In your case, since you're registering them separately, you'll run into issues with that option enabled since JFBConnect will detect that the FB Application was approved by them and start the login process.. when JFBConnect realizes that the user doesn't have a Joomla account yet, it will send them to the Login / Register page to create one.

There's no way for JFBConnect to detect that the user is logged into Facebook, approved your FB app *and* has an existing Joomla account all with Javascript.. we need to do a redirect and, in your case, that redirect may go to the registration page.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex

Ouch, that the third dissapointment I have with JFBconnect functionality. This time making it kind of obsolete for me.

I'm suprised that this situation is so rare.

Is there any way to strip down the redirect to the Registartion page?

I'm not sure what you mean by 'strip it down to the registration page'? Can you explain that more?

To clarify, the authentication features still work. Since you are manually creating accounts, that is an uncommon scenario. The way that almost all other users choose to use JFBConnect is with automatic registration enabled or, at least, our registration page. In these cases, email or admin verification still work. Very few sites have fully moderated accounts that can only be created by the admin though, that's just not common.

Thanks,
Alex

I have different registration pages with a component that lets me have each registered user be added to a different Joomla group.

All I want to strip down (remove) is the part that JFBconnect does the redirect to the standard Joomla Registartion page, (since I do not use that one).

Automatic registration by FJBconnect also does not work for me since I really need their true email adres in order to have an account, not their facebook email.

All I want to strip down (remove) is the part that JFBconnect does the redirect to the standard Joomla Registartion page, (since I do not use that one).

If you want to setup a redirect to a different registration page, we can gladly help with that. Is that all you're looking for? Since you have different registration pages for different groups, as long as all Facebook users go into the same group, this should be very easy. However, JFBConnect only works with a few 3rd party extensions through our Social Profile plugins. You can send them to the standard Joomla registration page, EasySocial or JomSocial. I'm not sure what other extension you're using for registration though, so I'm not sure if JFBConnect will detect the registration that occurs through whatever you're using.

Automatic registration by FJBconnect also does not work for me since I really need their true email adres in order to have an account, not their facebook email.

Their Facebook email address is an email address they use. It's been validated by Facebook as real and helps to make sure they can receive emails there. Also, because of Facebook's email notifications on events, messages and other things, the majority of users choose to use an email address that they actually use and not a throwaway one. As noted, our automatic registration process can also work with email validation so that you know the user can actually see emails that are sent to their Facebook address.

If you don't like that though, you can use the JFBConnect registration process or one of the others mentioned above to let the user fill in a different email address.

I hope that helps explain further,
Alex

Currently I'm using Ajax Register for the registration. So not any of the Components you mentioned.

As long as JFBconnect does not have the ability to register to a specified Joomla group with the registration. Than it is not a option for me.
