I have created user groups "Social Media Personnel" and under that group I created "Social Media Administrator," "Social Media Poster," and "Social Media Manager." to "Social Media Personnel" I assigned "Access Administrative Interface," "Post on Social Network," and "View Notifications" to "Social Media Personnel." "Social Media Adminsistrator is a JFBConnect Super Admin and "Social Media Manager has less privileges. I also created a user group called "~FE Social Pages Poster" so that I can assign someone to post articles to our Social Media Accounts from the front end without granting any back end access.

I haven't thought this through very carefully yet and was wondering if you could provide any insight or any thoughts on how you would set up the user groups for JFBConnect?

We try to have flexible permissions to do what you're looking for, though I don't know if the permission system has been widely used. From what you describe, I think you're on the right track. Can you let me know what issues you're running into or concerns that you have?

The Post To Social Networks permission is specifically what it sounds like you want to grant to the front-end group to push content. Most other permissions are for the admin section in general.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Thanks Alex, will just have one front end user group then, the rest will be back end configurators.

And you are probably right about people not using permissions, that's realty too bad because it is the permissions that allows a site to have a team of people working on it.

We agree, the permissions based scheme of Joomla in general is very powerful. That's why we support it. Again, what you describe sounds right, so if you run into any issues implementing it, just let us know and we'll gladly help.

Thanks,
Alex
