I just tried on yow...t.com (URL obscured a little) and the popup worked as expected.

After you upgraded, did you clear your Joomla caches and/or browser caches? If that doesn't help, or the site is incorrect above, let us know and we'll test further.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello,

The above url you have tried was an incorrect one . We have cleared the joomla cache for the website that have issue yesterday & its works fine.

Under the same domain we have upgraded the JFBC from 6.0.2 to 6.3.0 in another site, After up-gradation we have cleared both joomla & browser cache but still we cant able to login via facebook, once we click on fb button, the facebook login popup occurs & after submitting the credentials & click on submit button the page was refreshing and nothing happens. Please help us to resolve this issue.

Karthikeyan.P.M.

Please let me know a specific URL to test from. I just tried from the domain above /kenya/ and I was able to authenticate and get to the JomSocial registration page without issue. My details were pre-filled, as I'd expect.

Once we can recreate the issue, we'll gladly help however we can.

Thanks,
Alex

Please note that this is a public forum. I've deleted the credentials you sent, but I'd recommend you change them in case they were viewed by anyone. If you need to send private information, please Private Message it to us by using the mail icon under my picture to the left.

As for those credentials, I can't login to Facebook. It asks for security questions.

Again though, I was able to login using my account without issue. Can you try from different browsers and/or different Facebook accounts to see if you have issues with them all?

Another possible cause of the problem is the following Javascript error thrown when the page is loaded:

Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a function mod_bestofjreviews.js:162

That's not from our extension, but Javascript errors in other products can prevent our code from working.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thank you for your response. I have tried the following

I have taken a backup of the portal using akeeba and restored it in a different location and tried there. It worked there. However if I use the same backup and restored it fresh on the original location, it's not working for me again. That's very strange.

With regards to the javascript error, I have another portal with the same error and it seems to work on that portal. So that error can't be the cause of this issue.

I have tried with different browsers, different accounts, different OS, different internet connections and it doesn't work in any of it. And since it works on a different location but not here I am not able to pin point the issue. We have similar joomla portals for different countries with different content, the only common factor being facebook login stops working after we upgraded from JFBC 6.0.2 to 6.3.0. We are at our wit's end. Any guidance or assistance will be greatly appreciated :)

Regards
AG

What is the different location? Is it a different server or a different domain? Obviously, narrowing down what is different between the site that doesn't work for you and the one that does will be critical.

With regards to the javascript error, I have another portal with the same error and it seems to work on that portal. So that error can't be the cause of this issue.

Something is causing the problem and on some sites it works and others it doesn't. I wouldn't conclude that this Javascript error couldn't be related somehow just because it works on one site.

We have similar joomla portals for different countries with different content, the only common factor being facebook login stops working after we upgraded from JFBC 6.0.2 to 6.3.0.

Above, your mention that the backup does work when using 6.3.0, correct? If so, there are other variables that are related here.

Can you:
* Double check that the user account you're trying to authenticate with is activated and enabled in the Users area of Joomla?
* Set the "Debugging Mode" option in JFBConnect to "Yes" and check if there are any errors shown when you try to authenticate.
* Try switching to a different template, temporarily, to see if that fixes things.
* Remove that Javascript error and test

Hopefully something above helps narrow things down. If not, please clarify more about the 'here' vs 'there' location and if 6.3.0 really does work on some sites.

Thanks,
Alex
