Hello,

I am seeing lots of users registering with their Facebook account, like this

awesomescreenshot.com/0814gz4u95

but when I go the see the same user at Joomla's user list, their avatar is not there

awesomescreenshot.com/0634gz5e06

I have checked the settings and found nothing wrong. What could be causing this?
Where should I look?

thanks!!

The avatar from the User Map table is just a link to the user's avatar on their profile. It does not necessarily mean that the avatar has been imported on your site correctly.

In your JFBConnect > Profiles > JomSocial tab, can you verify that both the 'Always Import Profile Data' and 'Import Avatar' settings are enabled? If both are already set to yes, could you instead turn error reporting on to Maximum or Development in the Joomla configuration area and try to login with your FB user to see if there are any warnings.

Hi Melissa,

Following your advice, I found this:
===============================================================
Advertencia
JFile: :copiar: No se ha podido encontrar o leer el archivo: $/home/mcniac/public_html/tmp/scprofile_650669_pic_tmp.jpg
×
Error
The avatar file (/home/mcniac/public_html/tmp/scprofile_650669_pic_tmp.jpg) for user 650669 does not exist. Using default image instead.

JFile: :copiar: No se ha podido encontrar o leer el archivo: $/home/mcniac/public_html/tmp/scprofile_650669_pic_tmp.jpg

(In Spanish, it says something like "unable to find or read the file")

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Thanks!!

Can you look in the directory and see if the file exists? If it is there, is it 0 bytes or is it a normal size? Also, please try to check the permissions/ownership on the tmp directory to see if it is readable.

The problem was with the permissions. I changed them to 757 and now works fine.

thanks!!

Awesome! We're glad to hear that helped get you going. Should you need anything else, just let us know.

Finally, if you haven't already, please consider leaving a rating and review for JFBConnect, or our support, on the Joomla Extension Directory. It's certainly not required, but very appreciate:

Thanks,
Alex
