Leaving jReviews Facebook integration on should be fine. There's some duplication of features there, but you should be able to use features from either jReviews or JFBConnect however you want. jReviews actually has some detection for JFBConnect and makes sure things work pretty smoothly.

As for the image, you'd need to set that tag manually as our Open Graph - JReviews plugin will only automatically set the images in an listing/review page. You can set the blog view image manually by adding the {SCOpenGraph image=http://yoursite.com/link-to-image} tag somewhere on the page.. either in a module, the category description (if shown) or something similar.

Hope that helps,
Alex

Hi,
Thanks for clarifying.
But for listings(articles) I used com_content because thats what jreviews listings are, or did you mean reviews? if you want I can send you admin details
File Attachment:

So actually how should a site with jreviews 2.4.5 be setup?
One more question, how come when selecting meta as description it truncates to 10 words?

The Open Graph - JReviews plugins works on com_content articles, but has extra logic to work with the additional features jReviews 'wrap's' around com_content.

As for the description being 10 words, that's a setting within the Open Graph Object settings you create. Switch to using jReviews Objects and then configure things with a higher intro word count. The default is 10 words if no object is defined for the page.

Hope that helps,
Alex

Hi,

I have created the jreviews object types, and I selected meta but it still truncates to 10 words.

Thank you

David,
On that page, I'm not seeing the og:image tag that JFBConnect should be inserting. That makes me think the Open Graph jReviews plugin isn't doing it's job on that page. Can you check and make sure the category or directory is set correctly to one that contains that listing? If so, then also check to make sure there are no Open Graph - Content objects defined for the same category/article. If so, that object may be 'winning'. I'd just unpublish any other objects you have configured, for now, to test with.

If unsure, try changing the 'type' of the object to something like 'lkjlkjlkj' and see if the debugger gets that. If not, then the object isn't applying and you'll need to figure out why.. or private message us admin credentials to your site and we can look at your settings to see what's going on.

Thanks,
Alex

David,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to this, and thanks for the credentials. We got into your site and narrowed down the cause and a solution. The problem is that both the Content and jReviews plugins both operate on the same types of pages. The Content plugin is also built to automatically insert the description and images from content, even if no objects for content are created.

What was happening was that the jReviews plugin was doing it's job and setting the description, but then the Content plugin was overwriting the description value with it's defaults. The solution we found was to simply re-order the jReviews plugin so it did it's work after the content plugins defaults.

That should get you going and let both content and jreviews open graph data live harmoniously together. We'll be looking at updating the plugin code to make it less dependent on ordering as well.

Hope that helps, and thanks for your paitence,
Alex

Alex,

A few weeks ago the JReviews plugin wasn't working with JReviews 2.4. I didn't see anything in the 5.0 changelog. Is the JReviews plugin now working correctly with JReviews 2.4?
