Just set up the new Open Graph functionality and it works with the joomla article. But with an easyblog entry I get the following error:
Object at URL 'https://www.issdichfit.ch/easyblog/entry/diese-verpackung-kann-ihre-gesundheit-gefarden' of type 'article' is invalid because the given value 'b65a97fcc233665c31ae002c470b4e0c' for property 'fb:admins' could not be parsed as type 'fbid'.

I think I can't use the news.reads Action for easyblog. But what's the action? In your manual on page www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/docs/face...a/jfbconnect-actions you say that details on how to form the action can be read somwhere below. But I can't find that section.

Thank you very much

You can definitely use the news.reads action. The error is telling you what's wrong, though I'm not sure where it's coming from. There's a meta tag in the HTML of you page that looks like:
<meta property="fb:admins" content="b65a97fcc233665c31ae002c470b4e0c"/>
That string is not a valid Facebook User Id (it should be only numbers). Because of that, Facebook isn't even looking at the other Open Graph tags, which are required for the actions. Figure out what extension is setting that funky Admin tag and either fix it or disable it. JFBConnect sets it's own admins tag, so really, you should just disable it.

Hope that helps, and let us know how it goes!

Hi Alex,

Thank you very much for the quick reply. This fb:admins tag comes from easyblog itself. After disabling Facebook likes in the settings of EasyBlog Open Graph works fine... That's not really what I want :).

That helps narrow it down at least. Somewhere in EasyBlog, you must be defining the admin IDs or something.. and wherever that is, it's simply wrong. I'd look around for that setting and fix it so it doesn't have that strange string in there.

Hope that helps, and glad we're making progress!

Some other question I actually deal with, sorry...
Why is the entry in the activity blog just published for close friends and not public? Can I change this somewhere?
The activity is also just visible in the "activity protocol" but not in the "news feed" of my personal FB page...
And what's the setting "Creation Action" for in FB Open Graph setting for a Object?

Thank you again for your help

Zahnd,
Sorry for the delay in responding to you. When an action is posted to your Activity Log in Facebook, they determine how it's displayed to anyone viewing your page, including yourself. They do that based on relevance to your friends, or the amount of activity you've done on that site in the past. If it's the first action you've done, Facebook sees that as not necessarily being a 'big' deal. As you do more things, and other users perform actions as well, they realize those are better things to display.

You can go to your Facebook Activity Log and switch the setting of each action to either Hide it, "Can be displayed on Timeline" or "Always Display on Timeline". There's no way we can force the setting when it's posted for a user, it's something they would choose.. the default is to let Facebook choose ("Can be displayed on Timeline").

Finally, I'm not exactly sure what you meant by:

And what's the setting "Creation Action" for in FB Open Graph setting for a Object?

Thanks, and good luck,
Alex

Hi Alex, absolutely no problem! Thank you very much for your help and patience!

Ahhh, that's the way it works :). Interesting.

The "Creation Action" is a field that's visible when you edit an object like "Article" on developers.facebook.com in the Open Graph settings (screenshot in previous post). You can choose "read" and/or "publish" in this field. Just wondering what's the purpose of that field (if you know it). But it's not important, since JFBC works.

Thank you very much and best regards

For more information on the "Creation Action", see the "Notifications for Built-in Likes" section of the page below:
developers.facebook.com/docs/technical-g...lt-in-actions/likes/

Basically, the "Creation Action" is used if you have people creating articles on your site. In that case, they aren't "reading" the article, they're "creating" it. If that's an option, you'd then need a new JFBConnect "Action" to trigger when the article is created. Right now though, we don't have the "New Article" action built-in to our plugins. It's something we're planning to do for Joomla, EasyBlog, and K2.. but just not ready yet.

Hope that helps explain, but if not, let us know!

Finally, if you haven't already, please consider leaving a rating and review for JFBConnect or our support, on the Joomla Extension Directory. It's certainly not required, but very appreciated:

Thanks,
Alex

I'm having the same problem as the original post but my easyblog settings 'Append opengraph info in headers' are set to on.

Object at URL 'www.poetspoetrypoems.com/latest/entry/letting-go-1.html' of type 'article' is invalid because the given value '376101449130695' for property 'fb:admins' could not be parsed as type 'fbid'.

Works correctly if I turn off easyblog facebook likes.
