Facebook share image

Facebook share image

Is is possible to always use a standard picture when sharing to Facebook? Looks like Joomla picks a random image from my web page (see attachment). I would like to use a spesific picture each time.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Facebook share image

Yes, there are a few different ways to set the Open Graph image for pages on your site.

1. Enable the appropriate Open Graph plugin for your content, such as 'Open Graph - Content' or 'Open Graph - K2'. With just the plugin enabled, JFBConnect can attempt to grab an image from your article for the tag. If you'd like further control on what image JFBConnect picks, you can then create an object in the JFBConnect backend > Social Meta > Objects area.
2. Add our SCOpenGraph easy-tag to any of your page content, e.g. {SCOpenGraph image=FULL/PATH/TO/IMAGE/HERE.jpg}
3. Add a default image for all pages in the JFBConnect backend > Social Meta > Configuration area. This image will be used on all of your pages and, from your description, it sound like it would be the best choice if you're just looking for one standard image for all of your pages.

If you'd like more details on these options, please read here.

Please note that after making changes to your Open Graph tags on the page, the url will need to be re-scraped by Facebook. You can do this manually at https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing/ to force a re-scrape. FB will eventually rescrape all of your pages, but this can take days/weeks depending on different factors.

I hope this helps answer your question, but let us know if you need more clarification.

Re: Facebook share image

Thanks for your reply!

Agree, it seems that option 3 is the best for me in this case. I am not a developer but  I have configured the  JFBConnect backend > Social Meta > Default with image:http://www.svene.no/svene/images/svenelogo.png (see attacthment). Any other properties i have to configure?

Then. i used the Facebook developer debug tool  but I'm getting the "Missing Required Property: The 'og:type' property is required, but not present". Do you know why?

Re: Facebook share image

I've solved the problem - it was a caching issue :-)

Thanks for your help!
