Hallo there,

On our test site at sintagewpareas.gr/dev we get the following strange beheaviour:
If you open it from Firefox or Chrome, the blue "login with facebook" button shows just fine
If you open the website with IE8 though (havent tested with other versions), the blue button does not appear.
One more piece of info: if you do any action in the site (like click a link, or reload the page), the button appears momentarily there.

Have you met this before? Do you have any idea what this could be?

(Alex, your admin details on this site are still valid).

Thanks
K

K,
There's definitely something strange happening on your site. Sometimes, IE will continuously say it's trying to load the page. Either the status bar will say "Waiting on www.sintagewpareas.gr/dev/... or the green bar in the middle of the status bar will just keep moving. The Facebook button won't appear until the page completely loads, so this is something to look into, but I don't think it's the main problem.

Unfortunately, I don't know what the main issue is. Oddly, after the page looks to have fully loaded, if I click to another page, the Login With Facebook button will show briefly. I think there's a Javascript conflict on your page, but I can't figure out where it's coming from. Can you try disabling some of your Javascript based modules (the menu on the left, the slideshow, etc), and see if disabling any of them makes the Login button? If you can narrow it down, that will help us figure out a solution.

Thanks,
Alex

Hallo Alex,

Thanks for the pointers. I had actually done all that before (sorry for not saying it). It was not a conflicting javascript.

So, I retried it, debugging more drastically: I competelly wiped out whole sections of the template, leaving it with only the login box (and it was working) and started adding things, till I found what was breaking it.
And I found that it was a broken flash file: There is a small flash file in the page. The flash file itself was missing, so the page could not load it, and this was what was making the button not to appear in IE. Once I put the flash file in its expected place, the problem was fixed. I am writting it here, just in case you have a similar request in the future.

Thanks for the help,
Konstantinos

That's great to hear that you figured it out. We were a little stumped as for more suggestions, but figured the above would help.

Good luck, and let us know if you run into anything else!
