Hello, my client has a FB business page where he promotes special products. He would like to add a link to his main site so the customer can buy directly.. so he doesn'thave to edit images and text on both FB and his site he would like to do the product editing in Joomshop and export changes to FB.

Is this possible, if so how?

Also can he export his prducts to FB as a Image slide show?

Which price plan would be the best for him?

I will greatly appreciate any assistance in this.

I apologize for the delayed response.

JFBConnect doesn't have JoomShopping specific integration. There'sa few things that JFBConnect would help with though:
* JFBConnect has excellent Open Graph tags support. With these, the title, description and image to be used in a Facebook Wall Post can easily be set on any page of your site. Then, when linked to from a FB Page or anywhere else on Facebook, that information is used to enhance the post.
* You can use JFBConnect to create a Page Tab, which will show a page, or your whole, site within your Facebook Page. For instance, if you go to www.facebook.com/SourceCoast and click the "SourceCoast Joomla Extensions" or "JFBConnect Demo" links in the bottom right of the cover photo, that brings you to this site or our demo page. You could use that to point to the main page of JoomShopping or a specific products for a sale or even a coupon loaded from your site.

Beyond that, I'm not honestly sure what you meant by "so he doesn'thave to edit images and text on both FB". Where is the text on FB that he's editing? Is there something else being used to show products already on the Page, or is he just linking to them on his site?

I hope the above helps, but if you have any other questions, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Thank you for the clarification. I will have a look at those links now and see how we can fit that into his site.

Well, instead of adding his specials with descrition, images and prices to FB AND his site, he would like to just be able to add them to his site and then have them integrated into his FB page/wall. Less workload all around.

Cheers

Ok. This is the page he wants to link to on his site:
www.latina-bodyfashion.ch/Test/index.php...shion-weeklyspecials

If I use the "demo" idea, will it show the whoe page (header, navbar, etc of just the page with products and shopping cart?

Not sure how this will work. Can you clarify on hand of the above link?

Fintan,
When you show your site inside a Facebook Page Tab, you can configure JFBConnect to use either your standard site template or a special one just for the Page Tab. So, if you want the header and everything else to display, you can. If not, you can use a custom template that won't load those modules and or you could even show only the component area like www.latina-bodyfashion.ch/Test/index.php...cials?tmpl=component

JFBConnect gives you flexibility to control how the Page Tab looks without altering the rest of the site, but that does take a little extra work since you may need to use a separate template for it.

Regarding Open Graph Tags, they are ways to describe pages of your site to Facebook. With them, you can set the title, description, image and other 'data' about your page that Facebook will then use when showing a feed post about your page. For instance, if you look at our FB page (www.facebook.com/SourceCoast), the top left post (currently) is about our upcoming v5.1 release that includes Google+ support. There is a little text area, title, and image under our custom post. That little area is described by Open Graph Tags so that we control what it looks like. That's all done inside Joomla and whenever anyone links to that blog post, that little blurb will be shown (with whatever we configured).

I hope that explains more, but again, if you need anything, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

I get your point. I'll have to think about that.

What I am really looking for is a way to integrate the specials products from the website specials page to FB and show them as a slide show, like you do when one clicks on the logo on your FB page, but with links to the specials website page.

Fintan,
That shouldn't be too difficult.

With JFBConnect, you can easily show a certain page from your site within the Facebook Page Tab. You can call the little box under the cover photo area "Specials". When clicked, within Facebook, a user will see your specials however you can configure them on your site.. if you already have a slideshow then you shouldn't need to do much more.

You can create a new template or reduced view to have JFBConnect use that to display those specials.

Then, if you setup the page within Joomla for your specials to have each item open in a new browser window (target="_BLANK") then each click will open your site in a full mode outside of Facebook.

The one thing I haven't mentioned yet is that the Page Tab integration feature requires an SSL certificate on your website. That's a requirement of Facebook. Since you have a store, I'm assuming you have one, but just wanted to make sure you knew that.

I hope that helps explain, but if not, let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

Ok, I think we are getting close. I found this module:
demo.smartaddons.com/#sj-slideshow-for-js

I like the theme 2.

Now can I integrate this slideshow into FB?

Fintan,
The first step would be to configure that module and get it setup how you want it to look on your Joomla site. Then, with JFBConnect, you can setup which URL will be loaded from your site in the Page Tab as well as configure if you want a special template to be used while in the Page Tab.

The majority of the work is on your end getting the 'specials' page setup first. Then, I'd work on configuring the Page Tab since that's just loading the content you've got working on your site.

I hope that helps, but if you have more questions, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex
