Hi,
JFBConnect integrates with CB as far as login and user information are concerned. My question is how far it further goes with regard interactions between walls, friends request (invite in GJ) and actually every event related to groups.
Thanks.

The profile import is the largest integration between JFBConnect and CB. With it, you can select exactly what fields from Facebook are imported and what fields within CB they go into, so you have full control over the information pulled in.

Beyond that:
* Facebook has it's own Request/invitation system that we support, and it's not related to CB.
* During registration and/or Login, you can configure JFBConnect to import the users last FB status message into their CB wall

I'm not sure what you mean by 'every event related to groups'. We don't have any integration between events and groups, but if there's something you're looking for, we'd love to hear it. With JomSocial, for instance, we do have Open Graph Action integration for Groups. So, when a user joins a group on JomSocial, a Timeline event can be automatically posted to their wall without any popups or confirmations. It's great for promotion, and we're expanding the Open Graph Action integration into other areas, so your feedback would be great.

Hope that helps explain,
Alex

Hello Alex and thanks for your prompt reply; indeed, the open graph integration for groups in Jomsocial is exactly what I am looking for in GroupJive; the one thing about GJ vs. Jomsocial is (in my experience) the greater flexibility because of the ability for groups to be called anything, from projects, to donation campaigns, etc. and make them the center of a community activity. As for your FB request plugin, my question is more whether it would be possible to make it available instead of the GJ Invite feature available...in groups view.
Cheers, Bruno

Bruno,
Thanks for your feedback on GroupJive. I honestly have never used it, so I can't give you great answers to things right now. An Open Graph plugin for CB is planned, but I don't have a specific Timeline for when other than 'later this year'. GroupJive is something we'll have to look into when we do that just to make sure we hit the right points.

As for replacing the GJ Invite feature, how does that currently work? With our request feature, you can let your users invite their friends to specific pages on your site. That could easily be used to invite them to a Group home page. I'm not sure where the integration aspect would come from though (again, I don't know GJ). In your GJ template files, you may be able to add the {JFBCRequest ..} tag where you want the "Invite Facebook Friends" button to show, or you could implement the JFBCRequest module on your GJ menu items.

Again, those are just some ideas, but let me know if there's something more specific you're looking for.. Hopefully we'll be able to look into GJ in April, but your feedback and information on what you're looking for will greatly help us understand things better and hit the ground running.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi, I would have been more than happy to oblige...but due to the current better integration of your component (and a few others) with Jomsocial I am going to give it a try.
Cheers,

Sounds good. We personally prefer JomSocial as well as it's generally more powerful and well written, which makes things easier to modify and extend like we do.

Anyways, best of luck, and should you need anything more from us, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
