Hello Alex,

I bought JFBC a while ago and my license expired. I was looking for an option to renew it but I could find. Is there a renewal option rather than buying a new license for 49 dollars again?

Regarding the integration with JomSocial, at the moment I am running JomSocial + Joomla + phpBB3, being the bridge held by a jFusion instalation. Everything works fine but when I use the JomSocial Facebook Connection it doesn't work. Do you have any good feedback from someone who tried to do the same using your plugin instead of the original JomSocial FB connection?

Cheers.

Alexcfer,
We offer a 10% discount to users that are extending active subscriptions, however we don't offer any discounts once your subscription expires. Support and other maintenance issues on our side go down if user's keep their subscription and extensions up-to-date. Once it's expired, the need for more support to 'catch up' grows similar to that of a brand new user.

As for integration with jFusion and PHPBB, we've helped multiple users get that combination setup before. There are a few different options that we've heard of that make things work smoothly, but each site is different, so it sometimes takes a little trial and error. We'll gladly help you however we can if you decide to re-subscribe.

Thanks,
Alex

In my case I haven't used my plugin at all as my website development was in hold (which is not your fault, I know). Never mind, I appreciate your work and will be happy to pay 49 dollars for it again if there is no discount option and if I believe that it will achieve my expectations.

The main reason why JomSocial standard Facebook connect is not working for me at the moment is because, as standard behavior, the JomSocial system automatically replaces the users password with a random generated password after they associate the joomla account to the FB account for the first time. It just disallows my users to have the option of still use their previous user/login when it is convenient (firewall restrictions, for example).

Is JFBConnect's behaviour different? Or is it going to replace the password after association between accounts the same way that JomSocial standards FBC does?

Thanks a lot for your always-quick response.

No, JFBConnect doesn't change an existing user's password, at all. It can auto-generate them for new users, but for existing, no change. I honestly didn't know JomSocial did that, and it sounds a bit weird actually, but Facebook integration isn't really their focus.

JFBConnect also has a lot of additional integration options like automatically linking user's accounts when their Facebook email is the same as their Joomla/JomSocial one and other flexibility like that.

Hope that helps,
Alex

Ok, great.

Last question:

I remember that the first time I tried to integrate JFBC with JomSocial there was an issue regarding to log out using the log out button on the JomSocial community page. It would just not work and users would need to use the JFBC logout button to log out. When I looked at it first there was no easy solution available. Do you have any update about it?

Cheers.

The latest 4.2 release (out late last week) has a lot of improvements, including an update to how the logout functionality works. Even if you have the "Automatically Log Facebook Users" in option enabled, 'other' logout buttons should now work normally. So, yes, that issue should be fixed now.
