Topic-icon Comments posted to User FB wall AND my Fan Page Wall??

I've looked through this forum and couldn't find my exact question. So far, your level of support looks fantastic and I'll probably end up subscribing to this component/plugin.

My pre-sales question: If I set up FB comments in an article, when someone successfully comments on it, it will show up in that Joomla article comment area and the user's Facebook Wall. Can it also post to my Facebook Fan Page?

We currently use a Joomla component that displays photos from designated facebook galleries, onto a Joomla site. This component has been configured to also display and post PHOTO COMMENTS. In other words, when someone comments on a photo from the facebook fan page photo, it will display on the website when that photo is viewed. Conversely, comments left in the photo gallery on the Joomla website will also display under the fan page displayed photo!

Can something similar be done with regular comments left on the Joomla site? Will they also show up on the fan page's wall?? If someone replies to that particular comment from facebook, will that reply then show up on that Joomla article's comment area?

I hope that makes sense.

When a user comments, the comment will show up in that articles comment section, using the Facebook Comment box. You (the admin) can also configure JFBConnect to send you an email when a new comment is made to a page so you can check it out.

The post itself will also, normally, be posted to a user's Facebook wall. I say normally, because the user can choose whether the comment actually gets posted to the wall, and we can't force that.

Unfortunately, the normal commenting method for Facebook does not allow automatic posting to a Fanpage wall. I'm not sure how the other extension your using actually does that but would like to know more about what extension you're using. In short, JFBConnect does not have that ability built in right now.

As for replies, yes, those will show up on the article itself. We do a lot of things to make sure that the URLs for your article are the canonical (best) URL, so even if you show the comment boxes for an article in the blog view, and someone comments there, the comment will be attached to the 'final' article view. If someone then replies to this comment, either on facebook.com by looking at the user's wall, or on your site, the reply will be in a threaded discussion on your article itself.

Hope that all helps, but if you have any other questions, just let us know!
Alex

Thanks for the fast reply!

The photo gallery component I mentioned is Qgallerypro and it's in use at dallaskartingcomplex.com 's photo galleries (off the "About" tab).

FOLLOW UP QUESTION - Is your comment plugin and handling of canonical URLs compatible with Artio's JoomSEF component?

Thanks again!

Yes. We've helped a few user's in the past when they've had some minor issues with Artio, but it's uncommon. Artio overrides the built-in Joomla router properly, which means that when we generate an SEF URL, it generates it for whatever SEF handler you have on your site.

Hope that helps explain. As always, we have a 30-day money back guarantee. Should you purchase and find some oddities with SEF or conflicts with your Qgallerypro extension, no worries.

Good luck,
Alex
