I am evaluating several Facebook integration solutions and so far it looks like JFBConnect and myApi are the best candidates. myApi is free, but has a few bugs and very little support. That said, the developer has built in some really great features into the commenting system.

For example, you can require people to login via Facebook connect or Joomla before they can leave a comment. There is also an option that requires a person to click the "Like" button to comment... the Like button points to the Facebook fan page, so you can see how this would be advantageous as it helps build your fan count. Facebook comments can also be cross-posted to Twitter.

Are there any plans to implement something similar with JFBConnect?

There are definitely plans to implement a lot of features like that in the upcoming releases. With 3.0, our big goal was implementing the new Facebook API. 3.1 broke out the profile integration into plugins to make configuration and custom settings for each much easier. 3.2+ is going to be much more about exactly what you're asking... easier ways to manage comments, more options to post to a user's wall, in general more 'communication' between the 2 systems.

We're still in the process of nailing down the exact feature set for the next few releases, but are working toward a more regular release schedule (want to have a new feature release every 2'ish months, with bug-fix releases as necessary).

As with any extension, I wouldn't recommend purchasing off promises alone. If you like MyAPI, it is free, so try it out. If you want to test JFBConnect, we are for-pay, but have a 30-day money back guarantee.. and we support our stuff very well.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask!
