I am very convinced and I am definitely going to subscribe. To be honest, I didn't know you had an FAQ. Anyways, I'm not clear on your product offerings. When buying the JFBC, does it include the JFBCInvite and JFBCLogin or are they separate? If separate, how much are they? And have they all been updated to JS 1.8.x? Still waiting for the 3.0 release. : )

3.0 is in the process of being uploaded right now. We've already installed it here and the demo site. We haven't installed the extra modules here yet (we'll be adding the Like and Fan page modules soon), but the demo site shows off all of the new included modules:
demo.sourcecoast.com/

The installation guide has now been updated as well for 3.0.

Finally, everything you see on the demo page and that I've described above comes with the JFBConnect package.. that includes the JFBCLogin, Invite, and all the other social modules you see on the page linked to above. We'll be overhauling our product page and some other features on this site soon to make it clearer what is included, but your feedback and questions have helped show us where we need to improve. Thanks!

Another question. What happens if someone registers on my JS site first with their own username and password. Then logs onto FB with their FB login and password. Would this mean that they have two login info?

Also, if they have populate my JS site with their profile information first then log onto their FB account and import the data. Would FB's info replace their JS info? Would they be merged? How is this handled?

Thanks.

Regarding already having an account, there's a few scenerios we've planned for. In all cases, it assumes they have a Joomla user on your site already (regardless of whether it's been linked with a FB account using another component):
  • On logging in with that Joomla user, they will be shown a "Connect this account with Facebook" button instead of the "Login Using Facebook" button. This allosw them to connect their accounts.
  • Alternatively, if they don't log in with their Joomla user first and try to use the "Login Using Facebook" button, they'll be sent to the Login/Register page which lets them create a new Joomla account OR associate the Facebook ID to an existing account (they just need to enter the Joomla username and password)

Regarding profile, there's a setting in the backend to force a profile download on initial registration only or on every login. In both cases above, if you have it set to initial registration only, their profile would not be updated. If it's set to every time, it would be updated.

There's no merge option as that would be impossible to figure out how to do it 'right' for each user and/or site.
