Joomla 1.6 beta support?

No. We are currently focusing on JFBConnect 3.0 which will use an updated Facebook API. After this release, we will be focusing on a version that will work with Joomla 1.6. This likely will not be before the first production version of Joomla 1.6 is available, but we don't expect it to trail behind it by any lengthy period. Certainly, as we get more questions about it, it will move up on our priority schedule.

At the time of this post, the 1.6 version of Joomla was due out in August. Things changed a bit since then, and we've updated our timelines. Currently, we're planning to release the 3.2 version of JFBConnect next week, which will be for Joomla 1.5 only. After that, we'll be focusing on a feature-comparable 1.6 release for late April.

The J1.6 version is running through our test suite right now. We're calling it a Release Candidate, simply because it's the first release on 1.6, but we've been testing it to the same standards as our Joomla 1.5 releases and don't expect any big issues. Mainly, we're cautious because of all the additional options and switches in J1.6.. we think we've tried all the combinations, but we're sure someone will find some issues somewhere.

The release will be available to all subscribers (access to J1.5 and J1.6 is included) and we're planning to have it available later today.

Glad to see the blue bubble under your name. We have more good news for you (and everyone else).. we just uploaded JFBConnect for Joomla 1.6. This release has all the functionality of the Joomla 1.5 release and includes all the social modules (fanbox, like, friends, comments, etc), the integration plugins for JomSocial and Community Builder, and the content plugin for automatic Likes/Comments in articles.

We didn't include the profile plugins for K2, Agora, or Kunena because those extensions have no (Agora), limited (Kunena), or brand-new and we haven't had time to test (K2) support for Joomla 1.6.

As stated before, we're calling this a Release Candidate. We've been working on this release for over a month, and testing it methodically, but there's always the chance of us missing something stupid. Should you run into issues, let us know, and we'll be all over it!

We'll be creating a J1.6 specific configuration guide this weekend or early next week. The guide for 1.5 is almost 100% spot-on though, with just some minor differences (missing profile plugins, etc). The forums are always closely monitored, especially after a new release, so don't hesitate to contact us.
