Really sorry for the title but I am very close to get crazy.

The story is that I have installed latest jfbconnect 7.04 and I've trying to use the k2-content plugin.

The problem is that although I have two categories in K2 with identical settings and even same template but in different menu items, I can see the jfbconnect buttons in one of them but not in the other one!
Now if I copy the menu item in problem to another menu item then it works! It seems like jfbconnect doesn't like specific menu items although I have selected all categories in k2-content plugin.
The problem is that it is impossible to do that for all menu items in problems because they are more than 50.

Is there anything I'm missing here?

Than you in advance.

When you say the 'k2-content plugin', what specifically do you mean? We don't have a K2 content plugin, but you can setup how the content buttons are displayed in the Social settings area of the JFBConnect admin area.

Just want to make sure we're talking about the same settings in the same sections.

If so, in the Content Plugin - K2 section, for "Category Settings", is it set to "All" or are you selecting specific categories?
Is there a link to a working and non-working page that you can provide a link too? That will help us narrow things down.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi.

Yes we are talking about the same thing.

I have selected all Categories (All), but the social buttons appear as I told you in specific menus.

I will pm me the links.

Thank you.

I'm unsure what's going on here. Having both links are very helpful.

On the page that doesn't work, the following HTML is in the site:
<!-- Plugins: AfterDisplayContent -->
	  <div style="position: relative; top:0px; left:0px; z-index: 99;" class="scsocialbuttons standard"></div><div style="clear:both"></div>
	  <!-- K2 Plugins: K2AfterDisplayContent -->
The socialbutton code is triggering and trying to display, but I'm not sure why the social buttons aren't there. Something seems like it's stripping those buttons out on the K2 pages but I'm unsure what, why or how.

In your PM, you mentioned:

If i create another menu (new one) for the first link then it works. But as I told you I have already more than 40 categories assigned to menus and it is impossible to create new menus from the start.

Can you double-check every parameter between the 2 menu items and see if there are any differences. Something is different somewhere, and we'll need to narrow that down.

Thanks,
Alex

There is something wrong with jfbconnect and existing menu ids.

These are the steps I followed.

1. Opened menu item in problem.
2. Used "Save as Copy" to create an identical menu item. Named it differently. I wrote down the menu item id.
3. As I'm using joomsef, it's easy to change the menu item id for the existing sef url (the one I sent you). I put the new item id there.
4. Now social buttons work.

So we are talking about the same k2 item, with the same template. I just connected it to a different menu item id with identical settings.

You can check the link I've sent you.

Thank you.

I've seen the links for both working and not, but I'm unsure how it would be acting differently. What you describe is not something we've seen before so I can't really explain it from what I see.

Can you disable JoomSEF, temporarily and test one more time? That will help narrow down if there's an issue with the meta parameters sent using the menu item as well.

Beyond that, can you send us super admin credentials so we can investigate further? We'll need to investigate further as, again, this has never been reported and not something we've heard of or can explain from your details.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks for the PM. A few more questions, and then I think we may need FTP access to investigate more.

1) In your first PM, you mentioned that this URL didn't work: prognostika-stoiximatos-podosfero-greece-football-bets/atsalenios-proodeftiki
Now it does. Did you fix that menu item?
2) I see /jupgrade/ in the URLs. When did you perform the jUpgrade? Doing an upgrade copies all the menu items from the old Joomla site to the new one, and I want to make sure there wasn't an issue there.

Beyond that, we'll need FTP access. It should be pretty easy to diagnose what's going wrong on the dev site once we can add some debug code to print out more details.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi.

1. Yes. I fixed menu item. Now i changed it back to original menu item (so it doesn't work anymore)
2. jupgrade is just a folder name. I have used jupgrade ages ago but I kept this name for my test environment. So this should not be the issue.

I pm'ed ftp instructions.

I'm also trying to enable facebook login but I cannot make login buttons to show up. If you see something strange in my setup please let me know.

Thank you in advance.

Please also check JFBCLogin tag why it is not working.
You can place it in any place you like (k2 item, etc.) and see for yourself.
I have all plugins enabled and I have checked their order compared to another site I have that is working correctly.

Thank you.
