Hello guys! Awesome extention for Joomla you made :3

I have a problem: I've setup my JFBConnect for automatic registration (everything in the first row of the configuration tab is set to Yes), but still when I try to login with Fb I get to the registration page (index.php/component/jfbconnect/?view=loginregister&provider=facebook&return=)... But the wierd thing is that I've tried with 3 accounts, mine and my brother's. Mine succesfully logged in without asking anything, but the other two didn't. Am I missing something? Need any more info?

Sorry for my bad english :3
Best regards!

Replied by mel on topic AutoRegistration not working?
When I go to your page and click the button to log in, it brings me to a blank white page which usually indicates a PHP fatal error. Could you turn on Error Reporting to Maximum or Development in the Joomla Global Configuration area and enable debugging in the JFBConnect general configuration area? Then try to log in again with the accounts have problems. Are there any PHP warnings on the page or any errors in the console?

That's some strange behavior. It's good it's working for one account though, right? :D

I just tried on your site and the automatic registration worked for me. My account was created and I was immediately logged in.

For the users that don't work, there's a few things to check that may help narrow down where the issue is coming from:
* Are you using a 3rd party SEF extension? If so, please disable it to see if that fixes the issue.
* On the login/register page for JFBConnect, at the top, it should say "Hello, bob" or something to that effect. Can you check if the users name is there? That helps verify information is being properly pulled from Facebook. If it is there, is the user's email address and/or name displayed properly in the registration form?

Sorry it's not working perfect now, but we'll do what we can to help get you going.

Thanks,
Alex

I'm curious in knowing how do you know which is my webpage is, but guess that's not important :P.
I have no errors of any kind. When I try to login with facebook it just redirect me to the registration form with some fb accounts, and with others it really loged in automatically. I have maximum error reporting and here is what the log says:

#<?php die('Forbidden.'); ?>

2015-08-21T18:53:51+00:00 INFO 186.62.147.40 jfbconnect Perfil de Facebook conectado con éxito. (In this one, I completed the registration form)

In all, I tried with 10 accounts, 4 of them automatically registered, and 6 of them redirected me to the registration form. I just wanted to know if it depends on facebook, or if there is any way in which I can force EVERY registration via facebook to be automatic.

We record Autotune tests so that we can improve the service. The only information we record is your URL and user ID (from our site, not yours), no other information. It helps us check things out as well without you having to post your site in our public forums.

It should be automatic for everyone. The only times JFBConnect shouldn't do an auto-registration and fall back to the registration form is when:
* Facebook isn't returning any information about the user. In this case, registration really shouldn't work at all
* Facebook isn't returning the user's email address. There use to be an option for users to provide their email, but that hasn't been available for a while and it should always be returned.

Again, if you can tell us the info I asked for above (is the name and/or email shown on the registration page), that will help narrow things down.

Thanks,
Alex

Now that you mention, I've keep trying, I've tested 30 FB accounts now, and it seems that every account is autologging now. I don't think I have any SEF extension, I don't even use the search plugin :3

And as you mentioned, on all the accounts that redirected me to the "register" form, the "email" field is empty

And now that you mention it, most of the accounts that can't auto connect are accounts that haven't been used for a long time now. Year at least. I think some non-used accounts don't update the security or privacy settings, and that can cause facebook to don't give the email. I'll keep on testing, I'll test 20 accounts and I'll come back with the results.

Solved. After testing 20 accounts, 10 of them were daily used and had no problem on autoregister. The other 10 were unused accounts, and some of them redirected me to the register page. I checked those wich couldn't autoregister, and all of them showed the "can't reach email adress" security message on Facebook. Now I know the problem. Well, nothing we can do anything about.

Thanks for your time guys!
Keep on the good work!

Ahh.. that makes sense. Facebook is dis-allowing the accounts until their email address is functional. They're always fighting spammy/fake accounts.

I'm glad to hear you got things going. Should you need anything else, just let us know.

Finally, if you haven't already, please consider leaving a rating and review for JFBConnect, or our support, on the Joomla Extension Directory. It's certainly not required, but very appreciate:

Thanks,
Alex
