Hello,
I have a strange problem.
I have changed my website domain name to a new domain name, and I have changed the name in all joomla settings, and JFBConnect backend to the new name, and changed my Facebook app name and links in it respectively!

I have done all what's suggested in JFBC but despite all, my OLD website name still appears on Facebook wall when someone logs in or out from my website, but the link points to my new website!

Hope you will get what I;m trying to say.
but anyway, if you have any question, please let me know!

thanks a lot in advance.

It's usually a caching issue from Facebook. They cache info about your page for up to a week. It will clear out eventually. You can also use the Facebook Debug Tool to 'check' what they see and see if it's matches what you think:
developers.facebook.com/tools/debug

The tool also has the benefit of clearing the cache for any pages you use it on.

Hope that helps, but if you find issues with a page using the debug tool, just let us know!

Thanks,
Alex

yeah it seems so, here is an snapshot of the tool results, the name appears to be different from URL!
but seems its not clearing the cache so I will give it some time, maybe.

Thanks Alex.

That's definitely strange.. JFBConnect in no way even defaults some settings to point to any of our sites. It'd be a little shady, in our opinion, to do that... so, it definitely seems lik there's a mis-configuration somewhere.

My best guess is to check your Social -> Open Graph tab in JFBConnect. In the defaults box, check to see if you have something like:

url=http://joomla-facebook.com

Remove it. That's saying that the canonical URL (final destination URL) for all of your pages is our old JFBConnect promo page. No clue why it would be like that, but it's our first guess. The other option is that you've added {JFBCGraph url=http://joomla-facebook.com} tags to your pages or template.

Hope that helps get you started, but if you can't figure it out, let us know and we can come up with some ideas to how to narrow it down further.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi,
Ok that helped, it was that "url=http://joomla-facebook.com" in Open Graph tab defaults settings!
but I didn't write it anyway!

Still having 2 problems, the old domain name still appears as shown in the attachment here, the debug tool didn't helped clearing the cache of facebook.

and the 2nd problem:

Open Graph Warnings That Should Be Fixed
Inferred Property: The 'og:url' property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
Inferred Property: The 'og:title' property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

Thanks again Alex.

OK, I'm sorry for all this mess!

I just found the problem, I have my website into a sub directory called community, in the public HTML folder, I've setup an index.HTML file to redirect users to the sub directory, with a meta refresh of 0 sec
that file had <title>Kunu22.com</title>

and that was the problem of the name conflicts!
Now just a last issue:

what are those that needs to be fixed as suggested by Facebook Debug tool ??

Very sorry for the delay in getting back to this. The problem now is that you're still using a url default in the Open Graph area of JFBConnect. I should have been more clear that you should remove it altogether. Now, it's set for your home page. With that, it means that every page on your site, in Facebook's eyes, is a copy of your home page.

If you remove that, then JFBConnect will create the URL for the page to represent it to Facebook. We also include the title tag automatically. So, removing that should have Facebook 'see' the right final destination for the page as well as the correct title tag we're specifying.

Hope that helps, but if you need anything else, just let me know!

Hey,
Ok now it works, just removed the url and type from the default open graph settings and all works well!

Thanks a lot for your time and support.
