Hi,

I would like to post on the user's wall after they subscribed on my site and also to post in general update statuses when something major happens.
Of course, my application has the user's permission to do that.
Could you please let me know how to do that?

Thanks in advance,

Manos

Manos,
If the user is logged into your site when you want to do the post, you should simply need to add the code in the following article to whatever component needs to make a post:
Post to Facebook Wall from Joomla

If the user is offline, then you'll need to do a bit extra, as we currently don't store offline tokens for access to a user's profile. We're working on that ability, and hoping to have it out in the 4.1 release or, at the latest, the 4.2 release.

Hope that helps,
Alex

I am using the JFBLogin module for the user to subscribe. When he does, I want the module to do that for me. But I don't see any option in the back end. How can I do that?

Thanks,

Manos

In the JFBConnect Configuration area, there's a tab called "Wall / Status". In there, you can set a message to post to the user's wall when they register, or login to your site.

Hope that helps,
Alex

Thanks. I was looking in the module, while it's in the component.
You have done a great work.

Hi,

I don't know what I did wrong, bu although I have added a message and a URL at the new user's creation, nothing is posted at the user's wall.
Please advice,

Kind regards,

Manos

Manos,
Facebook checks both the URL and the image to make sure they are valid before posting to a wall. Make sure you have the full URL for both (www.xxx.com/) and that they are accessible (not pasword-protected).

If that doesn't work, try removing the URL and picture altogether so you just have a message and see if that helps.

Finally, Facebook is definitely updating a bit right now with wall posts, their new timeline, etc. It's possible it's a bug, or simply not showing up where it normally does... so really keep your eyes open.

Hope that helps, and let us know how it goes!

I did not add a picture. Just a message and a URL. However, I did not have the http:// in the URL.

Ahh. That would likely have been the issue then. Definitely test and let us know if you're still running into problems.

Thanks, and good luck,
Alex

No, it still does not work. My URL is now correct, I have a Message, I just don't have a picture. However, no post is done, after adding a new user.
